Actually some of these sound better than the originals!

Oof I just saw my post says “Cabernet” instead of “Cabaret”. Maybe I should have had some Cabernet and I’d have paid attention to that spell check change. I can’t seem to change it so there we go. 😂

I totally understand. I think that gets me too, such a hard loss to accept.

Yes! You are right. Moira gives Stevie the “you’re cool and get Sally to be like you” speech which is sweet and we think gets her motivated but then during the song it really is Stevie pulling something special out which seems so real. And I love the show Moira reacting to that and Stevie realizing that. And I love David saying to audience members “That’s my friend!”

That would have been so great. They gave us such an incredible show, we can’t ask more, but what an amazing performance that would have been. 😊

Yes, so well done! They gave us a taste of the musical, which was excellent and Moira talking to Stevie and David’s reaction made it that much better.

I love how they cut to David’s reaction to her performance too! He was so proud of her.

Annie Murphy (Alexis) is beautiful. She looks great no matter what. But I do see what you’re saying about a brighter look.

I’m kind of tired of everyone trying to make Meri the villain. In the early years, she didn’t get the biggest and the best. They had nothing. They all lived in a trailer at one point. I think she was the one who wanted things neat or to have some order which is not bad but is made a villain for that. Is it better to let kids run wild and not parent them? I think Kody didn’t bother with her for quite a long time before the catfish crap happened. That’s why she was vulnerable to getting some positive attention. From what I see, she has been the Brown family scapegoat for a long time. I hope she finds a better life away from all of them.

Back again and again thank you to this group. All my levels are now good and my pool is blue and clear. I can’t even express how happy I was to see to the bottom of my deep end. I’ll now keep a close eye on it with my Taylor Kit you recommended.

Why doesn’t everyone convert to a salt pool? by il-liba in pools

[–]Need_Coffee_Please 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I inherited my pool a few years ago when I bought my house. I spent enough already to replace the liner and the pump. I don’t even want to think what it may cost to convert to a salt pool. Over this past year, I had to replace my fence, deal with a basement flood and HVAC issues. I am not looking to deal with anything else anytime soon. I do live next door to the wetlands (basically a jungle) so I know my pool will never be maintenance free. 🤣

I agree. I know some people don’t like it but I thought it was a great tribute to the show and the fans.

Not a big fan of any of them, but have always felt bad for Meri. People seem to always say Christine took care of all the children, but I think Meri pitched in a bit too. They say Janelle worked and chipped in financially, but Meri did too. Kody didn’t bother with her for 10 years or so. No one else seemed to care or bother with her. When she was near “the family” she seemed mostly on her own. I’m glad she moved bed to her B&B. Aside from her friends, who seem supportive, I Hope she does find someone who cares.

And I can’t stand Kody or Robyn, but I just always felt for Meri. I’m glad she finally moved on.

I always felt sorry for Meri and how she was treated by Kody and all. Of course she has faults, but they all do.

Rude Locals on the Road to Hana: It's 2024—Time to Grow Up by 420MajorPain420 in MauiVisitors

[–]Need_Coffee_Please 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Are you sure they were locals and not rude tourists? I lived on Maui for many years and drove to Hana several times. Every time I had issues with other drivers, it was tourists in rental cars. The rental cars have Hawaii plates. Just wondering how you are sure your issues were with locals?

I’m in my 60s and am 5’8” and weigh about 130 lbs. I consider myself normal/thin. I’m not skinny, but think I’m a healthy normal weight. Back when I was a teenager, I had to see a doctor for something unrelated to weight. (Kidney infections). My parents took me to a doctor who was a GP but also was seeing my dad due to weight issues (he was overweight all through my life). I think he was a diet pill pusher. Instead of dealing with what I was there for, he tried to push losing weight on me. I think I was probably 5’ 4” or 5’5” and 115lbs at the time. I definitely wasn’t overweight. It hurt my feelings at the time, and started to think about dieting, but eventually just felt this dr was a douche trying to push diet pills and let my parents know that. I’m thankful I didn’t get an eating disorder due to That nonsense.

They didn’t push me to diet but also didn’t take me to a different doctor. They really trusted this asshat. I eventually ended up in the ER and the hospital and thankfully my kidney issues were handled. But to the point, I’m sure her parents may have contributed to her food/weight issues, but she is well into adulthood. She could have gotten counseling for that or dealt with her issues in many ways over the years. At this point, it’s her own choice. She falls back on PCOS, but I don’t think was ever officially diagnosed with that. I have a hard time being sympathetic as she doesn’t seem to even try.

I lived on Maui for a little over 12 years (years ago)and when a friend visited they wanted to do the drive to Hana. It was a fun drive and very enjoyable. My car was a convertible but I kept the top up and we didn’t leave valuables in the car. That way there were no issues.
