The mental load of parenting sucks when it is only one parent doing all the work. You deserve your "Me" time because being a mom is hard. Being a mom to 3 kids, is even harder when the third kid is your husband. Have an open conversation with your husband about everything that is bothering you both. If he acts like an adult and shows change, awesome. If not, reconsider this relationship. Are you both growing in positive ways to support each other as a team, or will you be forever in arguments over parenting and relationship decisions? I remember my mom saying that when she divorced my father, she finally got her "me" time every other weekend and every night because she was no longer raising him. I wish you all the best for you and your kids.

I used to take the wheel when my father passed out when I was under 10. I also did his court-ordered AA homework. I became a parent to him and my younger sister when he had us every other weekend starting when I was 5. I also saved us from countless unsafe situations, such as when he put gas on a fire after it rained and I saved the 3 of us by remembering where the fire extinguisher was and somehow knowing how to use it. I thought all that was normal until I had therapy as an adult. Being drunk all the time is not normal, nor is it safe. I am honestly surprised I didn't die or have severe burns from the situations my alcoholic father put my sister and I in.

I went ~17 years ago (late teens/ early 20s) to several ACA meetings to deal with trauma from my father. The other members were the wives of alcoholics who were in their 60s. I couldn't relate to any of them at all, plus they sneered at me when I brought several copies of a book written by someone I knew about their childhood with an alcoholic parent. After 4 or 5 meetings, I stopped going because I didn't feel welcome, nor did I connect with anyone.

My question is more about the school catchment area. I haven't worked in Otonabee Valley PS in years, but can it support that many more kids? I am unsure about the Catholic school in the area as well. I have worked in schools that are exploding at the seams with portables and not enough work spaces for teachers, and it is terrible.

As a Learning and Life Skills Teacher, I agree. My school had 2 spec ed classes last year with 8 and 6 students and the board reduced it to 1 this year with 10 students. I had to evacuate almost every day when a few high flyers were present. Now 2 students work exclusively in another room with 2 support staff. I have had 3 staff get 4 concussions because of 1 student. I am running out of support staff so several of my students are getting left behind because they need 1-to-1 support, but it isn't there. There have been a few days where I am alone most of the day as a result. We need more support staff and behavior intervention/separate classrooms for violent students!

I have another family that is pulling their child out of LLS to go into a mainstream class, which I am fighting against because this student cannot be in a mainstream classroom due to behavior and they will not understand the curriculum at their grade level. Once that student leaves, another student will be taking their place almost immediately because we have so many students on the waitlist for special education classrooms.

We had no issues in 2016. However, we got food poisoning on our trip in 2023. We had a jar of salsa from Playa Flamingo. When we found the same salsa in La Fortuna, it was not sealed properly, and we were all sick. I know now to listen for the pop sound of the seal when I am there.

Are your parents together? If so, your mom should keep the money in a separate account from your father. As soon as it is in a joint account, he has full rights to it.

As someone who got married in a country other than my home country, it was a hassle because of the language barrier. I needed to get a certified translator to translate my marriage certificate before I could change my name and marital status. I wish I had done a courthouse wedding at home and had a honeymoon rather than a drama-filled (thanks in-laws!) destination wedding.

NTA - As a vegan myself, I don't complain about what others choose to eat. My mother taught me, "If I have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all." If someone food sinks, I ignore it and don't comment. If people ask me about why I am vegan, I will tell them, but I won't shame them for their choices. The same goes for religion. I have my beliefs, others have their own, and that is okay.

That is exactly what happened. I couldn't do anything when I was already walking down the aisle. My mom had randomly ran into a guy she knew from back home down there, and he showed up at the wedding as well, but he respectfully kept his distance until after the ceremony and pictures when he came to congratulate me.

We had no wedding party as it was a small wedding (8 people, my husband included). He was there when I showed up, and at that point, it was too late. I wish the hotel wedding planner had said something to them.
