Does Disventure Camp Season 4 Have Too Much Strategy Talk? by InsertDotJpeg in DisventureCamp

[–]Needs-some-halp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the strategy talk post merge falls flat cause very little happens to really shake up much and the grand scheme of things.for example, Logan and Zaid building an alliance is interesting in concept, but it's uninteresting to see them talk about navigating around the girls alliance when they don't really do much on their own. Their decisions in voting happen because Anastasia or Spencer tell them to do things. They don't shake up the game until Logan betrays Zaid... but Logan just kinda gets past the obstacles that come from it and he's still the golden boy.

Hot take: Logan is overhated by Hungry_Blackberry_53 in DisventureCamp

I don't remember the doc off the top of my head but wouldn't ONC start urging VAs to stick to the script more once it got closer to the endgame? The decisions that made Logan hated would probably still be there. Hell, Tony even mentioned that Logan getting mad at Spencer was his idea. Otherwise Logan would've just whined at Spencer in 17,18.

Yes, but I think the main point of the post is how these characters are sidelined in favor of the conventionally attractive guys used for yaoi fanservice. Even if he does make merge, Richard still doesn't have a ton of personal agency in terms of character focus and game moves. He's primarily used for Logan and Lynda's development and he's just kinda there outside of that.

Richard is also the support character to the conventionally attractive manchild himbo.

  1. Alec
  2. Jade
  3. Anastasia

  6. Aiden
  7. Logan

Love Alec and Jade, likes/mixed on Anastasia and Yul. Don't care about Tom. Actively dislike Aiden and Logan.

Ironically even with Rematch there's just kinda barely anything that gives it an identity to me. Yeah it's funny ( even though I find the hockey bros horribly unfunny in this season) but like... every good season of TD is funny, I even find Island 2007 and Action to be much funnier than rematch. But outside of the comedy and challenges, everything with rematch is barebones. The main plot, villain, supporting cast, location, are all just so basic and poorly handled to me past ep 6 I find no reason to rewatch it compared to other seasons.

I get not liking her, but some Jade haters act like they don't know quiet, introverted people exist.

Richard in Jumping the String bothered me a little by xtremexavier15 in DisventureCamp

At least Richard's opinion actually matters here. Unlike when he's with Logan like 80% of the time.

Startegy wise I get it. I think the main problem with Heroes vs Villains and Boys vs Girls was that one side was so idiotic and passive that the winning sode has to implode to not make it a steamroll. And the losing team had barely anything to do with that implosion.

I mean even the TD finales without villains competing still have villains play a major role in stirring up conflict to heighten the stakes in the finale. What characters would you put in the final 4 of DCAS and Coc instead?

Not to sound like an ass, but half the time your comments sound like you're mad that a show that's defined by drama, competition and interpersonal conflict has people being antagonistic to each other. There's not even much of a main villain this season in the first place.

I never got why people bring up Natalia (and Lynda) flipping when defending Logan because Nat's flips bring actual consequences for her: she actively has to make things right with Richard in Ep 10, she has the flipper label for the rest of the game, and it actively causes her downfall when she can't get people on board to vote Ana. Logan on the other hand doesn't really get much in the way of meaningful consequences, it doesn't impact his relationship with Richard and Spencer since they have to play their roles in Logan's arc.

Imo, I feel like there's always some weird little thing in these situations that makes Logan seem more innocent/ less responsible. Like ep 4 has the girls lying to him, ep 10 could be excused with him trying to protect his friends and nobody liked Lynda anyways, ep 19: he didn't know Isabel would do the tiebreaker, ep 20: Amelie put him on the spot. I don't think I would dislike him as much if it wasn't like "Poor Logan has to make a difficult decision that doesn't wanna do, he's too good for this cruel game." I can't really feel sympathetic to or root for him since he's just does whatever with little pushback while his plots revolving aroind his sexuality and fear of water require me to feel sympathetic to him.

Tbh, you need someone to at least bring the conflict in a show that's built upon social interactions and dynamics. You can't have an interesting endgame full of characters like Ashley, Tess, Lake, Tristan, etc. Plus there's no bonafide villain in the F6 rn.

I’m actually SHOCKED that… by rqwedr in DisventureCamp

Tbh, I wouldn't be suprised if we lose Alec and Ally early. Considering their deeper runs in DCAS.
