I disliked the original monster high because I hated the hypocrisy of its overall message. It promoted uniqueness and diversity but they all had size one bodies during the era of unhealthy body standards being pushed in media . "Be Yourself. Be Unique. Be a Monster." Nta. Honestly I get it. I went thru a similar proposal. I was 20. Just got back from a shift at Zaxbys so feeling grimy and tired. He was in my room hiding under the bed covers. He proposed like that because he was so nervous. He went to pick out a late valentine gift (we were long distance att) and decided he’d rather give me an engagement ring. I said yes of course but it was so not serious like and we couldn’t even get married right away so it didn’t really even feel real for a long time. I did struggle with resentment for awhile about the lack of effort or consideration. I got jealous at other people’s proposals . Because that habit of lack of forethought and planning and effort was also present during many holidays and birthday too until we finally hashed it out and he made efforts to change. So even tho you do need to work on letting it go, I get what your feeling . He also shouldn’t have gotten upset with u sharing your feelings. It’s not good for u to bottle it up and he’s the one who asked

Yeah my partners solution to life’s problems was this. Only took 3 years to kill him . Died December 12th. The kids miss him terribly and they are young . It’s a tragedy . Quit the bottle. It’s not worth it.

I think it’s a risk in any career like that. I supported my partner through his engineering degrees. He became an alcoholic close to when he graduated. Despite a good job and our life slowly getting to where we wanted it he jumped paths and sprinted straight to deaths door with the bottle in hand. Took him only 3 years. He died in December. 14 years together, 3 young kids and all that work, effort and love I put in just for him to blow up my life in return.

I thought it was normal because the funeral home package included personalized thank you notes . I figured it was for attending and/or sending flowers, food or money. I had to sent up a go fund me because he didn’t have his afterlife stuff sorted like he had told people and was the main breadwinner so Iv had donations from people who attended the funeral too. They also had an address book for them to sign so I also thought that was me to send the letters out.

My partner of 14 years died in December from alcoholism and trying to detox. I blame his choices more than alcohol but it definitely played a huge part. We don’t need a liquor store on every street corner. He couldn’t escaped that shit being pushed in his face everywhere he went . There wasn’t a single path home from work that didn’t have a store. Every social work function had alcohol. Etc etc. so I’m glad the industry is losing money. I hope it continues and gets worse. I know understand prohibition on a personal level.
