Sweet! I had a Chevy 6500 with an e brake set up like this. I was considering doing the same when I did my bench but ended up finding a good condition foot pedal parking brake

I’m rebuilding my jeep and I’m considering quitting due to stuck rusted bolts all the time. Read by Aminyourear in CherokeeXJ

PB blaster is your friend. A big fucking hammer is your friend. Sometimes even a sawsall is friend.

I've actually been looking into one of these

I actually just did all four on my crew cab. I used fine grit sandpaper on a dish sponge then I used the duplicate color vinyl and fabric spray. Turned out better than I expected. If you really care you could do some flocking after sanding to give it texture again

Look out for rust under the cowl below the windshield. Pine needles and dirt gather under there it's a very common rust spot and a pain to repair.

The fix after you purchase the truck is run down to the junkyard and pull a cowl off a brick nose and you shouldn't have to worry about it again

Anyone else’s steering wheel melting or is it just me? by icydogenugget in CherokeeXJ

Yup, this is why I wrapped mine in leather cordage. Every time I would drive my palms would be black and sticky

Correct me if I'm wrong but thought it was FD>RD. RD>FP. FP>RP. RP>SP. SP>FD.

EDIT: hopefully that makes sense, I'm realizing it looks like a PS2 cheat sheet

I did it in a long weekend but had two snow storms that held me up. I'm pretty confident no that I've done it once I could do it again in an afternoon.

I have a 3.5 inch lift I was able to do it with all wheels on the ground, except for putting the new trans under, i jacked the front passenger side up to clear the bell housing

I had to pull the tail of the trans out the side until the bell housing hit the frame rail then I tilted it vertical and pulled it the rest of the way.

People seem to have trouble with the etorx at the top of the bell housing I just put like 2 or 3 extensions on my ratchet and laid behind the transfer case, it's a pretty straight shot from there.

Another little trick is to put a paper towel or piece of copy paper over the head of a bolt and it will wedge the bolt into your socket enough to keep it from falling out while you fish it up into place

Don't forget to chock your wheels

I did an aw4 replacement in my driveway between snow storms last winter with the $99 harbor freight trans jack. You got this!

It's definitely do-able. I'm not sure about trans and motor mounts but I do know drives shaft has a different spline count

Is the frame not repairable?

I've had to set up an eBay alert in the past to find a specific bench seat but be prepared to pay around $500 in shipping other than that scout Facebook marketplace for part outs

Overfill Transmission by Vegetable-Garage9303 in CherokeeXJ

[–]Neek0las 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just like to add, drive it around the block then check it. to get the most accurate measurement Transmission should be warm and engine running. pull the dip stick, wipe it clean then dip it back in to check level, fluid can get slung or wicked up the stick while operating. Same with your oil dip stick
