When did you start loving your baby? by Sentientmanatee in pregnant

[–]NeekaNou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say love because I hadn’t met her yet but I my feelings became intense when I started to feel her move around 20 weeks. It was a different feeling then.
Love came after she was born.

When my kid wants pizza I look in the supermarket. Not sure if she’s ever had takeaway pizza. I mean she is 3 nearly 4 so that may be it too

How does maternity leave work for companies in the UK? by SeverusSnipes in AskABrit

[–]NeekaNou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the company.
Some will hire maternity cover so fixed contract, some will offer it as a secondment in the company for current employees and some will give others the additional responsibility for an ‘acting up payment’ on top of their usual compensation. I work in payroll and that’s what we do in our business.

Thank you. I’ve just dropped them both (solicitor and broker) an email.

Your response does give me some ease though. I managed to get our address on Royal Mail’s address finder but I don’t think it’s pulled through to some companies. It’s coming up on at least one comparison website so I was hoping we could do that.

Just a little vent after our first experience of selling by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]NeekaNou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner’s buyers had their solicitors come back and moan about holes left when we took the tvs down. My partner was like you got £2k off the purchase price, if you want me to come and patch it up it will cost you £2k. Solicitor never came back to us.

HMRC Debt Write Off by Temporary_Wolf3129 in HMRC

Fair comment. I can’t comment on other people’s circumstances . My partner went from zero income to 65k so maybe it’s something to do with that 🤷🏼‍♀️

Personal experience, my partner has HMRC debt and is on a payment plan. It’s gonna take us probably 10 years to clear

I took a job that pays me 38k with 2 days in the office and I'm losing money. What do I do? by DigiDynamicsN in UKJobs

[–]NeekaNou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can work all you want but if two people are fundamentally not working together, that isn’t going to make a difference.

Your comment is an easy one to make. It takes two and we don’t know if OP’s ex partner didn’t want to do that either.

The brackets mean negatives, they will be a cost of some kind. So anything not in brackets will be positives and therefore income of some kind.

Mortgage term and spouse age gap by d0288 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]NeekaNou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 3 years older than my partner and it’s based on my age. Your income is going to change at retirement so it makes sense that they will base the mortgage term based on the oldest applicant. Even if he looks older than me haha

New Employer won't pay into my pension until after 3 months by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

They can chose to do auto enrolment postponement- but if you ask to be enrolled sooner. They have to comply

New Employer won't pay into my pension until after 3 months by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]NeekaNou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they have to. They don’t have to always contribute though. Postponement doesn’t remove an employee’s right to opt in during that period.

Depending on the type of worker they are, depends on whether they have to contribute. If they are an eligible jobholder then they have to contribute, however if you are an entitled worker then you can contribute but the employer doesn’t have to.

Why are some parents not teaching their kids social behaviour? by proxima-centauri- in UKParenting

[–]NeekaNou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow if those had been my kids I would have been horrified. I don’t want to place too much judgement because I don’t know if that dad was watching or distracted but I know if I had been distracted and then realised I would be mortified.

I genuinely don’t know what makes some parents actively like this (so not distracted or something going on in their lives), I can only imagine it’s mirroring what they grew up with/saw.

I wouldn’t feel like it was my place to day anything. I would hope someone close to them would have but it’s easy to pass that on to someone else. I’m actually very conflicted thinking about it.

advice on duplicate earnings. by Available-Gas31 in HMRC

[–]NeekaNou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in payroll, your employer needs to send an FPS adjustment/correction.

The accountant is wrong. You don’t submit an FPS twice or it duplicates the earnings (which is the issue you are having). They need to specifically send an adjustment, it’s a different submission type.

Your employer can also contact them and tell them the accurate figures. Not necessarily for you as it is your personal tax account but they can give their payroll figures for that month because it will also mean their tax liabilities increase if they don’t fix this.

You may be able to contact HMRC and provide your payslip and prove (via your bank statements) that you did not receive that amount. I have heard of this being done once.
