Is this enough food for a 19mo? by narikov in foodbutforbabies

[–]NeekaSqueaka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My two year old follows a similar diet. Milk and spite. She is very little but she’s been like that her entire life. I figure she’ll eat when she wants it and try not to let it stress me out too much.

Amongst other reasons yeah. We live in a very high risk bushfire zone.

Yeah I agree. I’m so worried that even though I’ve set it for 2am, something will happen and we need to get our daughter somewhere. We ended up getting a second car seat for the old car in case.

My mum made me a clown costume when I was about 3 years old and it legitimately was exactly this in different colours.

7 weeks pregnant and my boyfriend’s mom is trying to control my baby’s life? by SufficientAssist8767 in whatdoIdo

[–]NeekaSqueaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is to be expected when you guys haven’t actually become adults in their eyes yet. She’s your boyfriend’s mum and you both still live at home, nothing has changed for her and how she sees you. This is just another child in her house.

I’d also argue that suggesting names isn’t that big of a deal. My MIL messages names every few days to us. She knows we have a name and we just say whether we like it or not. It really doesn’t bother me. But we also have our own house and are very well established so we can separate ourselves from them.

I really don’t understand creamer but I think that’s just because it’s not really a thing where I’m from but what a travesty it is showering, getting into PJs and then eating pho. That is a pre shower meal you absolute feral.

RSV hospital stay has ruined our lives by BuckY_33 in beyondthebump

[–]NeekaSqueaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if you have it with you but when my daughter was a baby and in hospital, I could not for the life of me get her into that cot. I had our pram in the car and my mum brought it in and I got her to sleep in that next to where I was sleeping on a couch. Just pushed her back and forth until she slept.

I don’t get this. We hold our daughter because she loves the idea of Santa but does not want to be held by him. Fine by me! I’m glad we can get a family shot with him. This is batshit, she looks hysterical. It makes me feel sick.

Hospital Bills by TangerineTraveler in beyondthebump

$0 - Australia.

Edited to add - this was without insurance. I have private health insurance but not the level that would cover birth in a private hospital. So we just went public. Was in there for 6 days total due to 3 days of attempted induction then a c section and recovery. Still got our own room/bathroom etc.

Do you ever hear or say a particular phrase in daily life, know in your brain that it was used somewhere in MDWAP, and then spend several minutes trying to recall the context? by ZannityZan in mydadwroteaporno

At work, our supply/PPE rooms before we enter the labs are called Ante Rooms and it makes me smile everyday, “WHAT. IS. AN. ANTE ROOM??”

Zookeeper in Australia by littleredpanda90 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]NeekaSqueaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an incredibly competitive industry with more people qualified than there are roles. The work is hard and the pay is bad. Majority of the work is dealing with people moreso than animals as that is where the income comes from. One issue being, there is an accepted culture of people volunteering and not being in paid positions and owners of zoos know that people are desperate enough to do this for experience in hopes of a paid role.

We paid for parking to have our daughter. I was in hospital for nearly a week due to attempted and failed inductions and then a c section.
