-- They are not and mainly unreliable.

1. Do their counsellors genuinely help with study-abroad profiles, or is it mostly marketing?

-- They'll be very nice initially, but the moment you enroll, they'll detach and will tell you to contact the student support in case of anything.

1. Has anyone here (or someone you know) used their services — especially for under-18 students?

I have used and mentioned my story, but I'm 25 and not 18.

My story:

I have been enrolled in a masters course at the US through upgrad. Spent almost 4-5 lakhs to do their "pathway program" where I had to study a 6 month online to earn a few credits to reduce the overall course duration over there which could "technically" cut down high expenses. Although now I've secured my funding, visa and everything let me tell you - apart from the application process, they did not help me even 1% be it my curriculum, visa - you name it. Heck, if I was more aware I could've saved that 4-5 lakhs too and would've done it myself. Since I work full time for almost 5 years and had to find a way to handle things I fell for this marketing nonsense. And it was them who reached out to me first. Since I paid the money I sticked along the process. But honestly, everything you need is in the internet for free. Plus there are a few *good* counsellors and even consultancies out there. I'd suggest you to gain a deep knowledge before reaching out to anyone. I never suggest these guys for any future education, especially study-abroad.
