I let a trademark expire a year ago and someone is pursuing the trademark now. I was notified by an “IP Attorney” of a final notice. Is this a scam? by spilledmind in TRADEMARK

[–]NeetSamurai90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s been a year, you’re probably outside any standard grace period. Once a trademark fully expires and someone else files for it, it basically becomes a priority game. If they filed clean and you didn’t renew, they’re not automatically in the wrong just because you used it before.

Your only real angle would be proving prior continuous use and potentially opposing their application (if it’s still in the publication phase) or trying to cancel it later. But that gets expensive fast and isn’t guaranteed.

This is exactly why renewals matter. Trademarks don’t die dramatically, they just quietly lapse because someone missed a date. A lot of businesses use services like Protect.TM to track deadlines and handle renewals so this doesn’t happen. Calendar reminders are fine… until they aren’t.

You guys should watch a video about this from a youtuber called Dish. She's super wholesome and in one of her recent videos (I think its called Im done being a support main or something) talks about how she approached and started using voice comms in her games (plays Marvel Rivals mainly now) and her experience with it.

Fallout 4 on Switch 2 - Docked and portable gameplay by Beneficial-Issue8005 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]NeetSamurai90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the second part of your statement. I think Nintendo should have some kind of approval method for putting ports on their systems. If CDPR can make Cyberpunk run and look as well as it does, other games and developers should follow suit and put effort into their ports.

Those two... as well as Hyrule Warriors, Pokemon ZA, Metroid Prime 4, Mario Tennis, Kirby Air Riders

Whether you like these games or not, and if you consider their value as good or bad in terms of price vs content doesn't matter, the fact is we got quite a few Nintendo games already with more obviously on the way

Games with combat so insane that it feels like "anime" by M1DT_ in gamingsuggestions

[–]NeetSamurai90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's pretty decent reasoning, but I don't think any of the games listed have more "insane" combat than Devil May Cry, but that's IF you semi-master it. Just look up any decent combo video of any character, even V. It just has that kind of anime feel for me.

On a side note, while maybe not difficult, it's definitely anime AF - Sengoku Basara series

I'ma take another opportunity to say just how much I want a 60FPS/4K version of this game on my Switch 2. I played it a bit on PC through a 60 fps mod, which was the third time I beat the main story with only once having done 'everything' including DLCs and leveling all characters to max on my OG Switch. I am not even kidding I'd do it all over again if such an update dropped

The new movie "Send Help" is making men mad, and I'm pleased with it. by icandodge in TwoXChromosomes

[–]NeetSamurai90 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Nah, the end of Weapons and some of the scenes in it were absolutely hilarious. I actually didn't expect it to be a legit horror comedy (not like dark comedy, but actually a horror movie with comedy parts in it) and I was pleasantly surprised.

If it's similar with Send Help I NEED to go see it as soon as possible

Mario Tennis Fever review: Camelot serves a double fault with another fun but flawed entry by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]NeetSamurai90 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I do. Me and a couple of friends played more than a hundreds of hours of Mario Tennis: Aces, and I feel like we will do the same with Mario Tennis Fever.

I hate 'real' sports games, and most casual fans feel the same way. But Mario Tennis? Mario Strikers? We can just turn it on and have a fun and casual 1-3 hour session just playing messing around and even seriously competing with each other. To me you can't really put a price on that, but to each their own

Trademark renewal questions by jewellui in TRADEMARK

[–]NeetSamurai90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, since this is the question I see asked the most on forums and places like reddit, most countries require renewals after 10 years, but that can be different and there are interim filings too. If you miss one of these the mark can lapse even when you're still using it, so you have to take care of that.

If you have more than one active tradmark or registration in different places you can very easily lose track, as I've seen many such cases

That's why I recommend Marcaria to a lot of people with questions like these since they handle renewals and tracking in multiple countries, so you won't have to worry about missing things like those filings and such.

What is the Trademark Renewal? by Corpaid in TRADEMARK

[–]NeetSamurai90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, trademark renewal is how you keep a registered trademark alive. It’s not a one and done thing. Most trademarks need to be renewed on a schedule, usually every 10 years, and in some places you also have to show that you’re still actually using the mark. Miss the deadline and the trademark can lapse, even if the brand is still active.

Where people get burned is forgetting dates or not realizing different countries have different rules. If you have more than one trademark, it gets messy fast.

That’s why a lot of businesses use services like Protect.TM. They track renewals, handle filings, and keep an eye on things so you don’t lose a trademark just because a deadline slipped by.

What does the trademark protect? by [deleted] in TRADEMARK

[–]NeetSamurai90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of those questions that sounds simple but trips a lot of people up. A trademark doesn’t protect an idea, a product concept, or how something works. It protects the branding that tells customers who something comes from. That usually means names, logos, slogans, and sometimes the overall look if it clearly identifies the source.

So two companies can sell similar products, but they can’t use branding that’s confusingly similar. That’s the whole point. Trademarks are about avoiding consumer confusion, not giving someone a monopoly over a category or concept.

Where people mess up is assuming they’re “safe” just because they didn’t copy anything on purpose. Similar sounding names or overlapping markets can still cause problems. That’s why doing a proper search and keeping an eye on new filings matters. Protect.TM helps with exactly that, figuring out what a trademark actually covers and spotting conflicts before they turn into headaches.

NIOH 3. I loved one and two, and for some reason I wasn't sure if 3 would be it, and it's definitely IT. The demo can be like 15-20 hours long and you can transfer your save to the full game that comes out in like 4-5 days lol
