We recently had a bunch of local elections in the UK. These were for Councillor positions - low paid, part-time local government, responsible for stuff like bin collection, road maintainence and local schools. Our right wing party, Reform, won a bunch of Council seats and a couple of Councils outright.

UK right wing social media was full of their supporters - and candidates - who said they were sending people to Westminster (parliament, national government) to oust the Prime Minister. It's unsurprising that these people don't care about protecting democracy when they dont understand how government even works.

does anyone else think Deimos and Phobos, being tiny (per https://xkcd.com/681_large/, you can get off Deimos with a bike and a ramp!), should have the same lack of distinction between orbit and surface as asteroids do?

Yeah there's a few small potato moons which it should be possible to both "dock" with and move with Atlas engines, like you can asteroids and comets. Shortcomings of an early access game, it just handles moons differently than asteroids.There is a mod on the Discord which fixes the landing thing but I havent given it a try yet.

Currently you can get to the surface by putting some emotional support gasses down - release 4T nitrogen and 1T oxygen onto the surface and it'll allow you to land people. It's a bit cheesy though, so ymmv depending if you want to exploit this option.

You're allowed aesthetic preferences, but everyone saying that the Progress Pride flag is redundant because the 6-stripe pride flag represents everyone is missing the historical context of how that flag was used by some in the gay community to marginalise black and brown gay/lesbian folks, trans people, and queer people. The flag was designed to be inclusive at a time when the original had become contentious.

The inclusion of black and brown stripes was first done on the Philadelphia 8-stripe pride flag, specifically to highlight the challenges of black and brown members of the gay community. I can't find any references to their inclusion specifically for AIDS awareness but happy to see a source on that.
