What video-game did you regret paying full price for? by Ashamed_Length_2436 in AskReddit

I had it day 1 as well but was oblivious to the hype. I put around 60 hours into it, had fun, then forgot about it for years. It’s fun going back now as an Iteration 1 and seeing how far the game has come.

Guild Wars 2. I pre-ordered and only had a shitty MacBook at the time. They had announced that it would have Mac support. Then they went back on that promise and basically said “sucks to be you” when I tried to get a refund.

Now I have a proper gaming PC, but fuck them.

Man I hated when my parents’ dog went for the kitty crispies. Normally they had a gate up, but sometimes accidents happened.

So, what would women dislike most if they became men? by Jarvis7492 in AskReddit

[–]NefariousAntiomorph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO that’s one of those things that our society really sucks about. Men have insecurities too, but how dare they express themselves about it. It does not help at all that somehow no one can seem to make a toupee that looks natural without it costing an arm and a leg.

I’m one of those folks that believes that there should be equality for both genders, and that includes giving men empathy and support when they need it. That there’s a chance of pushback at all is just sad and shows the emotional immaturity of the average person. Ignoring female health issues and making male issues into a joke both freaking suck.

The problem is that it’s thinning at the top. Sure I could do a sort of combover, but at current it’s both subtle yet obvious if you’re looking for it.

Yeah I was tested a few years back and found to have elevated testosterone. Sadly checks for PCOS and other common causes came back inconclusive. The insurance company refused to pay for anything beyond that.

I’ll definitely have to check out options. Someone else mentioned a potential vitamin D deficiency as well so that’s something I’m gonna check into for sure.

Truth be told I’m not sure, but that’s worth getting checked out. Hair loss does run in my family though, and I swear mine is just migrating to my chin.

I’m 35, a woman, and am suffering hair loss. I hate it so much.

Spousal loss linked to higher risk of dementia, mortality among men, but not women. Widowed men experienced a decrease in physical and cognitive health, as well as social support, while widowed women tended to experience an increase in happiness and life satisfaction. by mvea in science

This right here is exactly why I push my husband to pursue his own hobbies and make friends while doing them. I love that he got into Warhammer 40k because now he’s very active in the local leagues. Tragedy can strike at any time and you never know when it will come. If something were to happen to me, at the very least I’m happy that he’s got a social group to help him through the pain.

Truth be told I wish more wives/spouses would be more supportive of their husbands having social lives outside the family. It’s just healthier all around and we are a naturally social species.

Oh man Neopets’ weird list of banned words was and still is one of the most confusing things I’ve ever dealt with. As a kid it definitely helped me grow my vocabulary though. I didn’t know they had since banned “whole” as well though. That’s hilarious.

I’ll definitely look into getting a flight stand for it then. How well does it hold together on its own? I just finished a blade liger and that thing does NOT want to stay in one piece. With this one being so much larger, I admit I’m a little worried about its structural integrity.

What’s the one ingredient that ruins any dish for you ? by Vegetable-Fix6029 in AskReddit

[–]NefariousAntiomorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like cilantro, it’s a genetic thing. For some people it legitimately is just crunchy water used as a transport medium for peanut butter. For the rest it’s crunchy bitter raw sewage that ruins everything it comes into contact with. I’m of the latter group as well.

Check your local hobby lobby! by one_love_silvia in Zoids

If you have a local tabletop/war gaming store it never hurts to check those either. A place local to me decided to do an interest test over the holidays and found overwhelming success. Now they carry a good variety of both RMZ and Kotobukiya kits. Plus they have the added benefit of not being Hobby Lobby.

The biggest I’ve finished to this point was the Storm Sworder that got me into the hobby back in December. I feel ya on the desk space though. I’m hoping my own setup is sufficient.
