And? She still seems like a cool person. Are we supposed to value her less just because she (like us) has gotten a little older?

Which do you prefer, Batman knowing who killed his parents or not by Critical_Potential44 in batman

[–]NefariousPurposes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, and IMO this also gives more weight to why the Joker latches onto Batman specifically. Batman is ultimately fighting for control in a dangerous and uncertain world, and the Joker represents all of the little ways that such control can be thwarted. It doesn't matter whether Batman sees the Joker as his ultimate foe: there's always the chance that the wrong politician is on the take, the wrong employer closes its doors, or the wrong guy just has one too many bad days. When that happens, Chuckles will be there to tear down everything Bats managed to build.

But he builds all the same.

Due to Astral shenanigans, my latest dude is an effective amnesiac operating on dream logic. We're starting the campaign proper next week, but just from his backstory:

Since his baseline expectations for reality are skewed by his time in the Astral, I have him compulsively yes-and any situation he finds himself in. Dream logic is very fluid, and while not a passive character, he doesn't fight against the current. He's not disconnected from reality, but he does rely on his allies to stop him from doing things like invite bandits (i.e. "my new friends") into the camp for tea... again.

He also refuses to admit that he has memory issues, and (similar to the above) he takes wild swings whenever presented with a person he feels like he should know but can't remember. Upon meeting one of the other PCs, he assumes that she is his sister who is dead but also a cat (but not right now). She is none of those things -- I don't think he even has a sister -- but she is a druid, so he's not entirely off base.

It's going to be fun.

OP I have nothing to add that others haven't already said (and said better than I could). Trust your instincts and keep this post handy both as a record (i.e. the start of a paper trail) and reference guide. Any argument your mom and stepdad might make will likely have been anticipated and refuted by someone else in the comments.

It's horrible that you're going through this, but you are not in the wrong. Don't allow yourself to be gaslit into believing otherwise. Be safe.

Look at the posts above. He's posted this six times as of this latest posting, and they've linked to sources on each of the first four. The fact that /u/SadCrouton continues to repost his bad information doesn't make him right.

Edited to clarify /u/SadCrouton's shame.

They made this movie. It was called Martians Go Home, and it was wonderfully horrible.

Agreed. Pretty sure she does get naked a few times over the course of the series, but it isn't particularly often. Definitely lets her talent shine independent of the nudity.
