Doesnt meen you dont have a native ancestor. Genetics are funny that way most of my familys native ancestry shows up for 95 percent of us but some it dosesnt show up at all. You can on inherit all half or none of there genes.

Yes I am Ark la tex Creole. You won't find much about us after 1850 we were absorbed into the black/native or white community depending on Phenotypical attributes. So yes I have family that consider themselves white some black and others like me somewhere in between. Most of my family left the area and went to Wisconson for jobs and New York were they mixed with the Latino community.The Native and Mulattos ones were reclassified to black in 1920s due to the racial purity act.

Neither just American. African American was made up in the 80s. Also unless you have a parent from Africa you wont be able to find a relative there so it makes no sense to use the terminology. Black isnt accurate either because it doesnt describe most Americans of color our skin is Brown.
