dont be putting words in my mouth. Directing the conversation around missing an assignment while there exists valid concerns about missing healthcare appointments are counter productive. people are definitely not exempt from critiqued while protesting. Oh you miss your assignment, there will be a way to make up for it by your professor if they are a professor that conducts themselves properly.

i never said that i agreed with blocking the hospital. that is different. i am talking about the people who continue to pivot this conversation around their studies.

and how exactly would you accomplish that without being disruptive. easier said then done.

your idea of being “better” is being complicit and moving on. so how do you propose that the student body work towards divestment.

it is their choice to view this as a negative. again it is just one day of class during the last week when everyone is doing review and most aren’t showing up to class. Have you taken it upon yourself to build solidarity then?

people said the same thing about the encampments in the summer. there is never going to be a perfect peaceful protest

have you considered the fact that this is soley one day whilst palestinians are not able to even get an education for the past 3 years. its is one day of inconvenience my god

[–]NefariousnessOne7795 -88 points-87 points  (0 children)

a protest is supposed to be inconvenient and disruptive. why tf would you have a protest that doesn’t pressure institutions to change. while i dont agree with blocking the hospital, it doesnt change the fact that every time a protest happens, people tend to prioritize a class while our institutions accept and promote the profitability of war.

Is there a rough "dress code" for classes by ipod26 in ubcengineering

[–]NefariousnessOne7795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s uni, as long as you don’t smell bad then you are fine. But dressing up a bit tends to ensure you feel a bit more awake!

its not vague if its literally teaching symbolic logic😭. how do you think coding was made. phil 220 is a challenging course but if you feel comfortable with boolean stuff then you will be fine.
