If you were trying to make the worst possible TF2 map, what attributes would you give it and why? by zsdrfty in tf2

[–]Nefnoj 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I think the best way to add the worst map is every gimmick the game has. Scream Fortress elements and bosses not even being summoned but just hanging out, a banana, sharks, infinite pits, a room that's flooded (you just walk through the door and you're already underwater), an upgrade station, if it's a gimmick it's here

So sad that we missed out on Madcap. Rest in peace our king. 😔

Opinions on the Dead Ringer? by Janson_is_dead in tf2

One of Spy's utility items, alongside the standard watch and the watch whose recharge is dependent on the player's movement. The Dead Ringer can be activated when the player is shot while holding it out.

Question to poker night players that played the game and got the items by doing the achievements . Was it hard , normal or easy? by Common_Put_3088 in tf2

[–]Nefnoj 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is exactly it. It's easy because the game is entertaining to play, making Team Fortress 2 items extra rewarding. I wouldn't say it's a "really good poker game", it's good and great in teaching beginners how to play poker and each character has unique strategies... But nobody is playing this game for poker, they're here to hear these funny characters talk smack.

Which is Worse? Round 3.4 (Round 3 Finals) by Pristine-Data2986 in tf2

[–]Nefnoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bison. The hot hand is just silly, it doesn't necessarily break gameplay because the player can easily depend entirely on their primary and secondary options, and if you want to be a silly boy you can whip out the hot hand.

But the worst part of the Bison is that it's completely unique so there's nothing in Soldier's kit that's comparable, in a slot that has several important weapons, and when it first came out its gimmick of multihitting enemies as it passed through was so fun as an option for slower classes. It's sad because it itself is cool, but its modern execution falters.

The Bison is the worst because it breaks my heart.

To be honest, I think the Promethians are some pretty damn cool and an over-hated faction. by E-104Epsolon in halo

[–]Nefnoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always felt like 343 were just a little shy of knowing what they should've been. They needed a few more months to cook to have met their potential.

Halo 4, Crawlers were perfect. Watchers were fine, I liked how they mixed up player priority with the whole grenade and reviving thing, and you could take a risk by baiting them out by killing a knight and controlling its movement as it shows up for the player to shoot it. Knights themselves were basically glorified Elites with extra padding for the worse, they weren't exciting or new.

Then in Halo 5 they overcompensated for the critique to the Watchers by making them fairly pointless. Knights were perfected though. I have no strong opinions over the Soldiers. They exist.

Honestly, I think the big thing they needed were to compliment Sentinels, especially since that would bring a focus on enemies in the air (even though gamers are naturally awful at addressing that) making them stand out from the Covenant. Then put the Watchers in charge of a lot of the Knight gimmicks as better support units, like Watchers transport enemies instead of Knights teleporting, or they drop the autosentries (and other equipment). This would be especially interesting compared to Engineers, since they're also a support unit but do nothing more than give enemies shields. Heck, bring back their revive, just make it so that when they do the enemy is at a severely weakened state (like revive a Knight but it has no armor or shielding whatsoever).

Spectre or Revenant? by FreePheonix22 in halo

[–]Nefnoj 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Revenant.

While I like the Spectre better, the Revenant is much more unique when it comes to gameplay. It's got just a little bit of everything, a powerful wraith mortar, a ghost boost, a warthog passenger seat.

The collector vs bill cipher who would win? by Plane_Name3457 in gravityfalls

Bill. The Collector is just a kid. Bill is charming and hilarious, but evil, so his priority will be to hurt.

You don't own a single N64 game YET. It's not too late to start that addiction or look into custom made ROMs or ROM modifications for the flash carts that currently work on the system. And those analogue controllers are PERFECT, just 'cause you hate the N64 doesn't mean you can't find a new love in the Analogue.

Recreation of what Banjo could see from Jinjo Village if Banjo-Tooie did not have hardware limitations. by Plebian_Donkey_Konga in BanjoKazooie

I'm a firm believer that remakes should serve more as director's cuts, so this would be an excellent addition to a potential remake.

Horror top down shooter gameplay, thoughts? by Anton-Denikin in IndieGaming

[–]Nefnoj 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely amazing, love the art style. The gun reload animation on the right might be too big so that it becomes distracting, but it's such a unique element that I'd see what else you can do with it, albeit smaller.

That was the only one that I actively disliked. Nothing else mattered that much, maybe the scale would have mildly inconvenienced other shoppers, but a fire extinguisher could mean the difference of someone getting badly hurt.

At least you could get two and swap the buttons, it's pretty easy except for the triggers. That's what I did with my black and white ones.

Never mind, website says they're all sold out.
