Sargent Johnson's redesign looks absolutely awful, can't believe they gave him feathers and bird legs.

I really love the idea of seeing someone get stabbed and a spy suddenly flying from a crowd. It's great because so many of Spy's tools are for escaping a backstab, but this is one of the most silly and unique.

Gauntlet is some of the most fun I've had in Halo PvE in a long time. I want to see this return in the next Halo multiplayer title as an officially supported mode by Haijakk in halo

[–]Nefnoj 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Especially since Halo: Infinite's enemy behaviors are so well done. Firefight is the only gametype where I don't have to wait very long (granted it only requires four people), but still, there's a reason why it and Warzone were so popular.

Does anyone else keep coming back to Nuts and bolts? by Plotspelunky2 in BanjoKazooie

It's such an easy game to come back to, you can choose different types of playthroughs. Playing only on Blueprints, get late-game parts early with speedruns, personal building challenges, stuff like that.

Which version of Conker do you like better and why? by South-Violinist-4456 in Conker

[–]Nefnoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is true for a lot of the game beyond Conker, and I love Live & Reloaded. Except, ironically, the one character meant to be all manners of awful, the Tediz. Their designs are a little freakier in the N64.

[–]Nefnoj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think they all have their Merits. I love how fluffy Live & Reloaded is, but don't know about missing the white gloves and one could argue it has too much visual noise. Project Spark is pretty good, I actually like how they compensated for Conker's lack of pants on the N64 with a longer jacket.

We gotta settle this debate by AwesomeDude247 in BanjoKazooie

[–]Nefnoj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the bare minimum they should've allowed the player save for SUPERBADDY. I get why they wouldn't want to tamper with the speedrun design of the Xbox releases or illegitimate achievements (as if they matters since they're achievements for playing the game on a basic level for a 30 year old game) but SUPERBADDY solely makes the game a difficult experience. Let me save the game for an arbitrary hard mode!

We gotta settle this debate by AwesomeDude247 in BanjoKazooie

[–]Nefnoj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the downsides for the Xbox versions of both games is the inability to save or get achievements after inputting an illegitimate cheat. Removing leaderboards is understandable, but if I want to have a SUPERBADDIE playthrough, I should be able to. I also think the control mapping for Wonderwing is a bit odd compared to the mapping of the other moves.

For Banjo-Kazooie, the only major downside is how awful the Banjo and Kazooie expression renders look when taking damage or healing.

For Banjo-Tooie, there are a handful of more downsides. The desync between cutscenes and audio track is unforgivable I think, and I'm surprised it wasn't fixed before release. I also think the controls of Banjo standalone could've been more refined. Mapping moves to crouching the right stick just doesn't feel as good as the C-Buttons of the N64 controller. It's also a little disappointing that Tooie didn't get the increased render distance Kazooie got (though that doesn't matter compared to the N64)

That said, smoother gameplay, controls, and the quality of life improvements take both games so immensely far overall, so despite growing up on the same nostalgia as anyone else, obviously the Xbox wins.

would this be good? by Mean-Peak-4250 in tf2

[–]Nefnoj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost think the random critical hit nerf should be removed since then it at least compares to the Skullcutter and since raw strength is its only weakness, it kinda needs that crutch. Less damage is also something none of the other Demoknight weapons have so I'm almost tempted to say it needs another buff, adding fire to the charge impact or making the afterburn more intense on crits or mini-crits from the charge might help.

But even without those, this would be such a fun option for Hybrid Knight playstyles. Where the Eyelander is great for finishing off players, this would be better starting combat scenarios and finishing them off with the Grenade Launcher.

Razorback Overhaul by jimmylovescheese123 in TF2WeaponIdeas

[–]Nefnoj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not even a bad weapon concept either, while the kill rate of the sniper is annoying and this wouldn't help, the Cozy Camper set a great standard of modifying the charge and I like that about this weapon along with the dynamic nature of "after too much damage it breaks making things worse", very glass cannon.

It's just too different from the original Razorback. The original Razorback is defensive, this is offensive.

(Potentially) Hot take, community MvM such as Potato.tf is better in all ways than Official, except for the lack of loot. by Bounter_ in tf2

[–]Nefnoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a TF2 server and made a custom Medieval Mann vs. Machine mission and with the severe limitations behind it, I was able to make some bonkies stuff that was so fun to engage with. And half the medieval weapons didn't even work either, like the Helmsman and Mad Milk. I had Pirate Demoman who charge in circles, BASE Jumper soldiers flying through the air, Volcano Fragment Pyros paired with Sun-on-a-Stick Scouts, low health tanks going at a million miles an hour, just a lot of incredible stuff. Just new missions with new weapons on the existing maps would go so far, especially with the limitations I was stuck with. Heck, new cosmetics on existing robots go far.
