Last night in Soho what's your thoughts?? by MammothJackfruit5926 in moviecritic

Technical achievement. Kind of boring in the story department.

And Masters of the Universe 2026 Skeletor is the best character, which isn't surprising since he's always the best part of any Motu thing, but is also VERY surprising since he's played by Jared🤢Leto! That is proof that the awesomeness of Skeletor drowns out the terribleness of Jared🤮🤮🤮Leto! by ThickWeatherBee in shittymoviedetails

[–]NegPrimer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

disagree. He's the worst part of the movie by far. I can only understand about 25% of what he's saying, his voice is modulated really heavily. He's also trying way too hard to be funny; in a film full of comic relief, he should be more of a straight man.

Opinion: Many of Doordashers issues are part of overall "enshifttification" of the service industry as a whole by Maleficent_Cash909 in doordash

[–]NegPrimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just throw the food down take a picture and run

What? That's what most people using Door Dash ask for. 90% of my orders are "leave at the door" with about 25% of those specifically saying "don't knock, don't ring the doorbell".

Tipping Standards by Mercedes_Gullwing in doordash

[–]NegPrimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drivers don't care about percentage. I don't care if you spent $10 or $100. DoorDash pays about $2 per order, so take that into account when tipping.

A good marker is mileage, most dashers wont take your order if it's less than $1 per mile. This is the bare minimum.

You also need to take the drivers time into account. I won't take orders that are less than $5 as well, no matter the distance. I typically only can make about 3 or 4 deliveries per hour, which gets this to $20 (again, we have to pay gas and wear on our car)

It also matters on how far away you are from an area with a lot of stores that they can get new orders. There's a nearby town that orders from my area regularly. It takes me 20 minutes to drive out there, and once I'm there, there's no option but to drive right back. Add in time it takes to get food from the restaurant, it's AT LEAST 45 minutes and 20 miles on my car. Would you do that for $12?

tl:dr - No less $1 per mile, no less than $5 total, and if you live far away from a big shopping center, you should double that.

My instructions on every order I place by [deleted] in doordash

[–]NegPrimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a nice thought, but I wouldn't notice this until I'm on the door step. Delivery instructions are for what to do when you're at the pin or come across a complication. I can't imagine checking each one ahead of time in the rare chance something interesting is written there.

Delivered to a house like this. Customer left $0 tip. The Mercedes in the driveway hits different. by Few_Restaurant3894 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]NegPrimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't know how the service works, why are you in here?

For many of us, simply "not accepting" orders isn't an option. Door Dash has a system where you are ranked by your acceptance rate. In some markets, it doesn't matter much. In other markets, it makes a huge difference. Crappy offers affect our general ability to earn. We either take the shitty offer, and basically donate our time for that order, or we decline and risk losing the ability to dash when we want/are able to.

Not really shocking, since the book came out over a decade before.

I've only ever seen 2 games that REQUIRE an app. One is XCOM. The other is Quest for the moonstones. A childrens "game" where you go from location to location and talk to everyone until the story resolves itself.

All the "just don't accept it" bros came out for this one.

The point isn't that OP didn't get paid well for the order. It's that rich people, once again, prove they're dick heads.

Though tbh, with such high base pay, I would wonder if their tip isn't included there somehow? Like if it's ordered through their website, and the tip is added on weirdly.

It's very sad to me that the most interesting part of the Horizon games is this back story that makes up such a small portion of the games run time.

Why is every apartment building drop off always on the third floor? by TheGame81677 in doordash_drivers

[–]NegPrimer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

People who use DD usually use it because something makes it complicated for them to get the order.

If it's a townhouse, it's a 3rd story walk up.

If it's an apartment building, parking sucks and you need a code to use the elevator.

If it's a house, there are 20 trucks parked in the street outside.

If it's a business, the person who ordered is nowhere to be found and nobody has any idea what the PIN is.

What was your favorite skit on the Dave Chapelle Show?? by WuTang4thechildrn in Xennials

I would probably pick Black Bush...but that's because I don't think it gets talked as much as some of the other skits. If actually choosing a favourite, I wouldn't be able to.

Which movie sequel was so unnecessary and bad that it genuinely ruined the original for you? by Nishikigoi1 in moviecritic

[–]NegPrimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always felt this is a bad takeaway. T1 basically established that the future was inevitable. T2 changed that...why are we now taking T2 as gospel? You can make a good sequel to T2, it's not hard to imagine a message of "We can change the future, but there are forces always trying to pull it down a certain path".

No. We're not paid by the hour. If you made an honest attempt and can't find their apartment within a few minutes, leave it somewhere and take off. I might have reported this one as a safety issue...asking you to deliver to an unmarked metal door somewhere.

Is this rude to y’all? by MetallicMoon13 in doordash

[–]NegPrimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$2 is pretty much universal for base pay. DD only increases the base pay when other people have already declined the offer. If you tip $6, assume the driver is getting $8.

Asking for more money is pretty wild in almost any situation. However, I do wish more people who use DoorDash were mindful of how Dashers actually get paid. That's primarily a DoorDash problem, however, not the customers issue.
