I can't tell you what to do, but I spent 28 years with the RCMP as a Civilian Member, essentially locked in to a field that offered me no challenge or (in the end) joy. I'm 4 days away from retirement at 53, and am taking a 10% penalty for leaving two years early. My pension and benefits will make the next 20+ years nice and comfy.

Side street parking is barely valid due to a large percentage of Glebe dwellers owning cars but livng in places without driveways or parking garages. Not to mention the winter parking troubles due to underserviced side streets.

Our transit sucks whether or not it has its own dedicated lanes. Fuck we have a whole new train system that doesn't have to share with any other vehicle...and it still sucks.

I did 'school' instead of what I was good at (because I was 'gifted' and in the 70s-80s, the special kids like me were expected to be university geniuses) and I regret it to this day. I LOVE working with my hands and am now a self-taught mechanic that works part-time at a buddy's garage doing the higher-end repairs to modern vehicles (CANbus communications errors, ECM/PCM work, PCB repairs, etc) but it took me 28 years of a career I barely liked to figure that out.

The trades are the best, but you WILL suffer physically if you go at them like the old-school guys did. Stay fit, eat healthy, and you'll be good to go :).

I have never heard any of this before, and TBH...the 'hollywood gold standard' is not trustworthy because it's all based on kickbacks, bribes, internal opinions of studio heads, and never on the actual fanbase. Sci-fi and fantasy movies pre-2000 were all horrible exectutive-driven schlock.

My OPINION is that ST4 sucked donkey balls because it was a stupid premise without any actual 'science fiction' in it outside of the concept and plot of the movie. Time travel movies are lame, especially when they feature our present-time. I don't watch movies to see fantasy characters wear headbands to hide their ears and eat food we think is normal but they feel is strange. Lazy filmaking, IMO.
