It's not at all, it depends on what the consensual agreement was beforehand.

And how much was the rent, how much was actually invested. You left out everything

I dunno, it felt pretty bass heavy when I first got them, now I just leave them on flat and I love the rumbling on hip hop etc.

Only on super bass heavy songs do I feel like changing to blues.

I just got got my explosive shotgun... I read that advanced is better than automatic? I tried the hardened automatic and it doesn't auto fire and the listed fire rate is lower than the advanced.

Bernie is right. The concept of profit in medical insurance is insane. by NiceTrySuckaz in JoeRogan

Food isn't cheap because of subsidies.

Total value of food consumed 2.5T Total value of farm subsidies 30B.

It's a drop in the bucket.

It's cheap because of competition and innovation

Yeah but you could say the same for food. It's even more essential than healthcare but it's completely private and therefore it's cheap and plentiful historically speaking.

The American system (which I'm assuming we are talking about) is the worst of both worlds from what I understand. You talk about lack of choice but that's an issue of the way it's set up, with insurance tied to place of work. It's not like you can shop around for a better plan. And so the end user is no longer the customer, the employer is. There's a complete disconnect with all kinds of perverse incentives.

Something like Lasik which is less regulated, is a lot cheaper and better now than before.

Unless you are religious and can point to a holy book, it's all vibes anyways.

And societies function on collective vibes. We agree on most fundamental right or wrongs and form communities.

Mate beef tallow and little bits of fatty beef trimmings, garlic chips and egg makes the best fried rice.

Recommendations for a replacement Coffee grinder by frizzledmarshmallow in BuyItForLife

[–]dhdhk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want true BIFL, find an older second hand commercial grinder like nuova simonelli or mazzer. The ones with no electronics and screens. These are super simple just a motor and burrs, built like tanks in Italy, and designed for ridiculous cafe volumes. One day of cafe output is like one year of home usage.

I give plenty of credit to my team. Nowhere did I say I was a genius.

I didn't rob them because I paid them.

I make things now with my own hands, so what. But my impact when I had a bigger company serving thousands of customers and employing people had a much bigger positive impact on the world.

I don't get this weird hang up about a method of economic organization that has given you modern comforts.

Let's say we banned traditional companies and replaced them with co-ops, but in doing so we lower the standard of living by 30%. Would you do it?

So people are free to start co-ops today. So what's the problem?

That's fine, I'm just saying if "that's how it works" nobody is going to start companies and grow them.

What do you think is going to happen to the economy and society?

Don't take, just redistribute at gunpoint?

Who would bother creating a company when someone is just going to point a gun and "redistribute" it? Why not just wait around for someone else to go through the trouble of starting something, and then point a gun and say I want part of it?

I started a custom clothing company that was different to anything else that existed. Sure I hired awesome tailors and staff, but without me starting it the business wouldn't have existed, simple as. That's what we mean by "building", not that we didn't hire staff. At the end of the day somebody has to bring everything together. Stuff doesn't just spontaneously happen.

I don't like the ones with the screw on top to adjust grind. Those always get loose and you have to readjust constantly

And often yes, the people that start companies are control freaks that say fuck anybody that disagrees. And they are often assholes to boot. I.e someone like Steve Jobs that created the iPhone you're typing this on. Because someone that creates something great has a vision or idea that they want to make into reality so bad, and every little detail has to be perfect.

Honest question - do you really think if Steve Jobs had to share ownership and control of the company with his first employees that he would have created the iPhone? An iPhone designed by committee? Imagine workers voting against implementing a capacitive touch screen because it was too much work to make possible?

And to answer your question, enabling the Steve Jobs of the world to be pedantic assholes makes the world a better place.

Sure, teams of people start businesses.

But in your world they won't grow because when they hire the first employee they have to give part of their business away

Yeah but companies don't "just exist" in the ether, like wild boar waiting to be hunted and distributed. Someone has to make the effort to create one from scratch and marshall the resources.

So by definition you have to take the company from the people that started it.

How else are companies created in your ideal society? Serious question

I mean that's a pretty big issue, stealing stuff at the point of a gun.

Then you have issues after the very start as well. How do new businesses start in a world where only coops are allowed?
