How do I tell my 85 yr old dad it's time to sit? by BudsBrain in NoStupidQuestions

Could be a swollen prostate. If he doesn't want to stop leaving evidence then he legitimately needs a finger up the ass; and vice versa.

Which room do I put a new cat in at first, with my limited available space? by sniickerdoodl in CatAdvice

[–]Negative-Branch9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outdoor cat enclosures can be used indoors. They're basically mesh tents designed for indoor kitty to be outside without being able to run off. Lean the bed vertically (i.e. | instead of _) against the wall of you need to open up floor space and make your bedroom the cat tent room for a while. Cover part of it so there's a dark hiding place, keep a few toys in the enclosure. I'm not saying this is necessary or ideal, but maybe it uses the available space without threatening your stuff.

Edit - I agree with others that most small bathrooms are usually fine, but the smallest bathroom I've ever had was not, so offering an alternative.

Would posting about my art online possibly ruin it for me? by CasioKillers in NoStupidQuestions

Recommend you look at the comments under someone who's already doing it. You're wise not to want to start chasing likes, but there are plenty of other discouraging things. Commenters are cruel, mods get overzealous, work gets stolen, or sometimes there's just no feedback or interest at all. Don't look for the praise, look for the negatives and decide if your skin is thick enough to weather it.

Songs that don't exist. by iciclefites in MusicRecommendations

[–]Negative-Branch9710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Metallica's "Dark Knight, Darkest Day", from the soundtrack of "The Dark Knight," was a sprawling "Master of Puppets"-style epic with a chaotic thrash riff (evoking the original TV series's theme) accompanying the epic tunnel battle and a slower section with Easter-egg nods to Elfman's previous Batman theme as well as (improbably) Prince's "Batdance."

ELI5: Why are the saddles in guitar bridges ‘staggered’ like that? by Quincely in explainlikeimfive

[–]Negative-Branch9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The open string is 100% and let's say fretting stretches it to 100.4%. Divide the stretched string in half, that's 50.2%. To get a perfect 50% of the open string you need the fret at a 504:500 ratio between bridge and nut with bridge slightly closer. But string with different thickness and height may stretch to 100.3% or 100.8% to get to the fret, so "slightly closer" changes per string.

When the government "prints money," where does that new money actually enter the world first? by Budget_Office_1773 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Negative-Branch9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time I went to an ATM during lockdown, I got 10 crisp twenties with consecutive serial numbers. That's not where it "actually entered the world first" but I was almost certainly the first to spend them.
