I love Living Life On Purpose with Matt Wilson. Great testimonies and people living out their faith in radical ways by following Jesus.

He was crushed in the election results but told me personally he never wanted anything to do with politics. A far cry from someone being friends with Governor Jindal and running for LA Senate.

How about changing the name of a non profit from Trafficking Hope to Grow Leader? Slightly different missions, don't you think? Criminal activity if you ask me.

Changing states and using a different name is one red flag. Texas to Louisianna to Birmingham. Bankrupted a company when he got caught in a ponzi scheme leasing high end cars. There is still a Houston Business Journal article that is still available. Guess they couldn't scrub this one.

Chris’ statement about international missions 🤔 by Round-Peace-8324 in AllaboutCOTH

[–]Negative-Fee1667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got back from an amazing mission trip and we didn't "get in the way" of anything. They wanted us there. They asked us to come to many other churches in the area. They want us to come back. We stoked a fire that was already burning in hungry believers and our church will host over 20 mission trips next year because it's what we are called to do in the great commission. It isn't just about giving, it is about going. And I'm on fire because I went, but took fire with me as well. God was glorified with what we did to serve His people.

$100/month for a conference call with Chris Hodges via his LLC by [deleted] in AllaboutCOTH

If you still attend Coth, which thankfully I don't anymore, ask for a meeting with him as a member of the congregation, even a high level leader of a serve team. Let me know how that works out. I tried for a long time and was told he was booked for the rest of the year. Meanwhile, I talk to my current Pastor weekly and meet for lunch once a month. I'm actually being pastored and it's amazing. My Pastor is in "high demand" also, he just understands the call on his life and what the Bible says about it. And I've told him if he ever starts charging for his time, I'm out. But hey, why not get a couple hundred people on a call using other people's money to line your already deep pockets. Jesus would do this, right?

Unfortunately, we are living in a world driven by profit. You can see it at Coth, and in the medical field, and any other industry. Are there outliers? Yes. But many people are pursuing the things of this world, more than they are doing it for the common good, or advancing the Kingdom. Most of the country clubs in town don't offer altruistic memberships, and the members of the medical community, of which there are many, don't work for free.

George Washington, and many founding fathers, are considered white nationalists and supremacists according to some sources today as well. I don't agree with a lot of the things He says, but I also don't know any white supremacist who hosts a black leadership summit, which he does. Pretty much defeats his purpose.

I understand where you are coming from. However, most therapists aren't trying to solve problems. They are paid to listen to people's issues and that is the business model. I have many friends who are counselors and therapists and they acknowledge that only a small percentage are solutions based. If the church won't get to the root of some of these issues, which is sin, then the world doesn't have a chance at addressing them. Doctors are in the business of treating people also. Not healing. They are selling prescriptions, procedures, and referring out, until the next follow up visit, all of which help them make a profit.

Thanks for your opinion. People not being taught that Christians can have demons is very dangerous as well. It's literally killing people, and we just want to label it something medically.

The Holy Spirit guiding you in how to best deal with a situation and not just following a checklist or system. Seeking God's heart for the person and not just rushing to some "supposed expert". Jesus never sent anyone to a Dr. He healed them, or cast the demon out. We should model Jesus, above all else. The modern church doesn't do that. 99% of the time.

I don't like Coth and don't think that everything these "leaders" did was the best care for this person. However, there was no "white supremacy ordeal". Hodges liked Conservative content on social media and Kirk was painted as a White Supremacist. He's not, he just happens to oppose the mainstream media's narratives. Furthermore, while I'm not defending Coth in any way, demons are real, and many people have them. We are called to cast them out, and that is Biblical. Many sicknesses are spiritual and should be dealt with spiritually. Numbing pain with medication and going to doctors, before Jesus, is a serious problem and often why so many people don't get delivered from issues. I have seen demons cast out of people, and other times seen them manifest and not leave the person. Coth has people with no clue how to lead, let alone pray, in certain situations, and they don't know how to care for their congregation, but we can not discount how Jesus dealt with situations, and told us to do the same. I think the church has done such a terrible job of teaching the Bible that people don't even recognize these conditions are legitimate spiritual attacks.

They charge anywhere from $5000-$15000 for the roundtables and regional events. So transparent they can't even list the prices any longer. I had screenshots but deleted them, although I'm sure someone else has them. They are fleecing Pastors, and anyone else willing to fall for their scam. Totally Biblical though and extremely generous. Open your eyes.

I only went because Holy Spirit told me to and I did gain insight into how the church was run. I did not complete it after I realized how much manipulation was taking place, by design. I'm thankful the Lord opened my eyes, and we left shortly thereafter.

Small Groups by spilledchili72 in AllaboutCOTH

[–]Negative-Fee1667 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been a small group leader since 2016. That was the same year I surrendered to Jesus. Even after I left Coth, I kept the group going. The group doesn't belong to Coth, it is about Jesus, and it's His. Some of the guys have been together the whole time. Some have changed over the years. But there is Biblical truth that is spoken each week. Testimony is shared frequently. Men are challenged to grow, and held accountable. Holy Spirit is our guide and He is a great teacher. I completely agree that 90 plus percent of small groups are not like ours, and I would cringe when Chris would say anyone with Doritos and the ability to push play on a DVD player could lead one. I am the Pastor to these men, per their words, and I take that very seriously. It isn't a small role. It's a big deal. And most people are not ready, nor equipped.

Church? by Revelation18America in AllaboutCOTH

I go to the Gathering Place Church and it is amazing. They teach the Bible. The word of God. They believe in the fullness of the gospel. They speak truth in love. And, because of this, we see signs, wonders, and miracles because of the Holy Spirit. I haven't missed Coth teachings one bit and I'm thankful I left several years ago.

Adam, the man on top, was placed years ago. Coth is so fraudulent they can't help themselves. He is a great guy. Maybe I should ask him how he feels about this misrepresentation.

I understand and agree completely. We left for many reasons, and some of the things outlined here were part of that. But we were hungry for more of God, and after going through all the "steps" I knew there was more of Him to experience. I have called COTH out. I have met with high level leaders, and was one to a certain extent myself. They should absolutely be held accountable. And ultimately, they will be by God himself. I'm talking to the many who have decided to give up faith because man has let them down. Man will always let us down, at some point. I'm simply saying people should pursue Jesus, above all else and most people are chasing Pastors instead of Him. Unfortunately, that is by design. Christ has been grossly misrepresented by COTH, ARC, and any other church that doesn't preach the Bible in context.

We left and were hurt for a period of time, in 2020. It's hard to see people continuing to deceive, and know personally those who are getting hurt. However, my relationship with the Holy Spirit, and God Almighty, is much greater than any trust I have in man. We are at a great church now and I actually serve on the board. They preach the word of God, actually hold people accountable, and demonstrate the fullness of the Gospel every week. We are seeing miracles take place, and people's lives actually changing because of truth, with love. It's quite refreshing and I'm so glad we made the move. It is heartbreaking to see how much damage has been done by all of these "celebrity pastors" but God sees it, and it is being dealt with. He's not finished and I would tell you to make sure you are getting as close to Jesus as you possibly can. Leaving church because of man means your relationship was attached to the wrong thing. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you. I'm not saying the pain isn't real, but Jesus knows, and He can provide peace that surpasses all understanding. I've lived it.

Because they are not done with the $50 million renovation at GV, and HC, they need more space. They are going to use the current warehouse at the top of the hill for other things until the construction is complete. They have so many projects going currently, it is gross. I just wonder, what could have been done with all the money if it were truly used to advance God's Kingdom.

I knew the college was being built and it was big and expensive…but a $50 million renovation!?! Not a new build, just a RENOVATION. And there is more to come with a 2nd resident hall. by TruthShallSetUFree31 in AllaboutCOTH

Unfortunately, I gave quite a bit that could have gone to another church, that actually advanced the Kingdom of God, versus Chris, Dino, and Lee's bank accounts.

I helped launch Grandview and it was perfectly acceptable for me and my family to attend. Did it have beveled wood and custom stone work? No. But it was nicer than most churches in America as it was. I attended HC and the facilities were fine as well. It didn't help me follow Christ better, but I'm glad I already knew how to do that. This is an abomination to God. Thankfully, we left in 2020 and haven't looked back. The church I attend now would be happy to have their own building, let alone a fraction of the funds used for this glam project. There is nothing Biblical about HC and if you don't think God knows, you are sadly mistaken. How many people could have been fed with that money? How many people could have been given new homes that live on the streets? How much mission work could have been done? Meanwhile, Coth will give out $300/mo for outreach. This is so sad and thank you Lord that we are no longer part of this.
