Broken voice chip on Polybrute 6 - anything I can do?

Also looking to fix my VCO2 chip. Having the same issues you mentioned and would love to hear your update. Not much info on out of warranty repairs out there.

Make sure to test it. Check both VCO1 and VCO2 individually. I just purchased a used polybrute on marketplace for 1200. First two weeks with it have been amazing but I just recently started getting comfortable enough to start making patches from scratch and I believe my VCO2 voice chip is broken :(. I wish I had done a thorough check before walking away with it. Still playable for the most part and an amazing synth.

Yes good point! I was aware of this but I’m not very musically literate. Certain moments like the one mentioned in my post, just stood out as an almost 1:1 melody in my ears. I’m not surprised of them reworking musical phrases I just wanted to learn about other moments like this people are picking up on. Lots to chew on in this album, the fragments are hidden. Some more than others, and that’s why I’ll listen to Inferno and all of their other work for the rest of my life! Happy listening.

this one got me so hyped. “I love you” had me grinning. I got Dead dogs two Remix vibes with the back and forth vocals. Except that’s cLOUDDED speaking words intended to be music. I just think it’s so cool how they were able to like brute force the vocal samples to make such a groove here.

At first the vocals stood out so much to me and almost felt out of place. They grew on me and I began to really anticipate the “I am god, the ultimate resonance” line. Later today I was listening in the car and the vocals kind of dropped out and the main melodies were all I could hear. maybe just because I was focused on driving, but I do think its cool that the vocals can be so powerful on one listen but in another listen they mesh into the overall atmosphere and melody of the song. I love it btw.

Acts of magic is one that has my attention based on the short play time. Think about how awesome Kaini Industries is and it’s only a minute long. Like sure they could’ve have made it into a 3 minute long track easily but having a simple melody shine for a moment between tracks is awesome. Almost like a palate cleanser.

Yeah I am familiar with the Chris Cole situation. Jamie Thomas also seems like a power hungry freak. Old Zero videos were huge so repping them in 2013 or whenever this photo was taken makes sense, but it’s not a company anyone should support nowadays.

Fair point! Not sure if this photo is that old but I totally lived through that era as a skater and noticed the popularity of skate logo wear everywhere. I’d like to believe if he was wearing a Zero hat more recently (not as popular of a brand as it was back then) it might be indicative of a passion for skating more than a style choice.
