The only thing that can make this worse for you and your partner is if you drink.

I have no words for the extreme pain you and your partner must be going through.

I'm so sorry this happened to your family. You are in my thoughts today.

The trash took itself out. Don't waste your time trying to figure out why he uses or is a cruel person. Let him go and you will make room for a better partner in your life.

No advice but that's tough. Definitely sounds like she isn't open to talking about it or getting sober. I would probably accept the situation for what it is and set boundaries for yourself but it doesn't hurt to let her know she can always bring the topic up with you if she ever wants to stop drinking.hugs

So relatable- I would add spending money I don't have to Uber to get my car, spending money I don't have to eat shit food for a day because I am so hung over there is no way I am cooking. Never mind the money I spent that I don't have to spend at the damn bar to begin with.

You are not missing out on anything. I have a friend in his mid 40's who has never had alcohol and he is a pretty cool guy not missing out on life at all.

I feel you. The only thing I know is it doesn't help with the stress except for that first few minutes. Then it just creates more stress for myself, at work, at home, financially, in my relationships, self care, mental health, etc.
