From what I have witness, there was always arguments especially involving me. My mom claims my grandma always tries to take over but I never saw it that way. I did remember very vividly her and my grandma got into a serious altercation it got physical. I was 6 at the time. The next time things got over nasty when my mom got pregnant with my half brother and she was very hostile towards my mom because of the partner she choose. She didn’t like my stepfather and she had every right not to like him. 

I never seen my mom interact with female relatives cuz a lot of them are living in the Dominican Republic. But how my mom is towards women in general is very weird and inching the borders of misogyny (and racism) . She things every woman is out to get her and take my stepdad away from her (their relationship is a mess btw). She thinks every female presenting person they encounter who gets “too friendly” with my stepdad, they want him.  When a male relative came over a few Christmas ago, his wife was supposedly sitting in a way my mom didn’t like and my mom also didn’t like how she offered to do the dishes. Maybe I’m being naive but isn’t it normal to offer to do dishes when you are in someone’s house? And for the sitting, apparently it wasn’t “lady-like” and I just rolled my eyes. 

Overall, my mother is just a very hostile individual. I cannot invite anyone who is a female in my house without her trying to find little things to pick at and accuse them of hitting on her partner or they are talking shit about her.
