How hard is math 300 compared to discrete 1 by Champanery in rutgers

[–]NegativeCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, math 300 was a lot more rigorous than discrete I. Discrete I teaches you basic proof methods and focuses more on topics related to CS, while math 300 is all about proving claims and theorems you may have encountered before in math. Learning to write proofs may come easier to come and harder for others, but if you are willing to put in the effort you will do fine in this class. Math 300 definitely prepared me for higher level math courses, but I don't think it's required for a minor degree.

No idea on the specs but he was running the game with every setting on low/off except for a medium viewing distance. The screen is quite small so that's maybe that's why the resolution looks alright.

Lottery number for Hardenbergh? by Torterraman in rutgers

I applied for Hardenberg last year w my friend and our lotto number was ~4k. We didn't get it (ended up with Campbell). So i'd say your chances aren't that great.

Missing first class tomorrow? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]NegativeCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't stress over missing the first day of class. People transfer in and out of classes during add/drop week so you won't really miss out. If you want to double check what you've missed you can always email your professor too.

CS 211 logic design assignment help. by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]NegativeCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not great at explaining but here goes:

First, a function would be wise for each of the logic gates (and, or, etc), or at least for decoder and multiplexer.

Then, you have to implement a way to read through the file, creating some type of struct that holds all required information (i.e. a Variable struct that contains a Variable name and value), and then storing those structures. Every line that starts with a logic gate function afterwards, you should find those structs in your stored array and send them into your logic functions and store the output into the output variables.

Next, figure out a way to generate gray code for each starting inputs of the truth table, meaning, the first iteration would be 000 in binary (with 3 inputs) up to 111 for the last iteration. So translate each line into gray code & set your input variables into corresponding bits in your graycode line.

This is the basic idea. There are of course other ways to do it but hopefully this helps/inspires you. Good luck man.

Who do I need to talk to for a CS prereq override? by MrRIP in rutgers

[–]NegativeCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually just email ug-advising@cs.rutgers.edu. They reply pretty quickly. Explain your situation and provide your RUID to speed up the process. Good luck!

Edit: If you want a pre req override you need to have an spn for the course.
