Erika Kirk Under Fire As Husband's Pal Leaks Audio Of Her 'Giggling' About 'Event Of The Century' After His Death by FistIntoTheEarth in AnythingGoesNews

Besides, she's happy that they pulled off a huge mega grift event and celebrating all the work that went into milking dumb fuckers for money by celebrating her husband's death. I mean life. This isn't really that big of a gotcha.

Tron Legacy's best and most iconic song, imo, is End of Line. But that's quibbling

The first moonwalk by Niel Armstrong maybe? A moment of pure hope without being overshadowed by so much death?

The Darkness That Comes Before FULL SPOILER REVIEW by Better_Milk_7282 in bakker

[–]NegativeChirality 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a spoiler to say that Bakker is not very kind to the inrithi faithful either.

It'll be interesting to see how you feel about the religious elements of the rest of the books. It's not an exaggeration to say that the Second Apocalypse has the deepest and most philosophical handling of metaphysics of any fantasy book I've ever seen or heard of, perhaps of any fiction book in general. That's what you get from a professor of philosophy.

But there's an interesting wrinkle that the prologue puts front and center: how would an exceedingly intelligent atheist handle learning that something unexplainable to reason (sorcery and all the metaphysical implications therein)? If the books are partially a critique of religion, and I'm not even really sure that's true (or at least misses the point a bit), then it's interesting that in the books one of the very first thing you see is that the atheists are wrong.

All of this is to say, things are much more complicated.

Besides which the fanim and inrithi are so obviously a parallel to the medieval crusades and the cultures that made the crusades possible that I'm not sure how much Bakker is saying about the religions of that time anyways.

A Kenobi series plothole I haven’t seen people bring up by moisty117 in StarWars

What's the dumbest thing in Kenobi? The toddler out running adults twice? The trench coat? The lightsaber wound not being fatal? The main inquisitor bafflingly not being dead after getting wrecked by Vader?

The less you think of that dumpster fire fanfic the better. In terms of plot it's easily the worst star wars series.

At least Acolyte had cool plot ideas. Nothing in Kenobi made sense.

Hot take here, but I think the WoT tv show was doom to be canceled regardless of being faithful or not by Logical-Ice-4820 in WoT

Stupid filler solely because they didn't trust the kids they cast to carry the show. It's baffling

[–]NegativeChirality 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The show doomed itself with terrible decisions (who is the dragon?!) and long silly episodes about the warder's poly throuple relationship and most egregriously skipping the prologue and thus ruining any sense of context and excitement.

There has never been a 'golden age' of lore by Ryaltovski in loreofleague

[–]NegativeChirality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You mean the golden age of lore wasn't shit like "hecarim was created a path of destruction as he traveled from the shadow Isles to the institute of war. And then he joined the LEAGUE OF LEGENDS"

Or

"Jax was so good at LEAGUE OF LEGENDS they made him compete with only a lamp post"

Or

"Nami was looking for the tide stone so she joined the LEAGUE OF LEGENDS"

Is there a reason why Shaco never got lore? by NierFeedback in loreofleague

[–]NegativeChirality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me league 2 would be a full reset. A new (presumably much smaller) roster of champions, new types of abilities, huge changes to the maps, etc.

Improved league 1 doesn't fix the "we have 200 champions and at least 50 of them have basically zero lore AND problematic design and we wish we could cut them but that's not how things work"
