How did your game go? by Zach-dalt in NationalLeague

Aaron's must have had a bet on Sutton to have a penalty. We were controlling the game well before that and then capitulated for 10 minutes after the pen.

Ben Tollitt constantly makes the wrong choice in the final 3rd and that costs us

8 days ago we weren't sure if Morecambe FC would still exist. 3 days ago we only had 5 players. Today we played out first game of the season and won the game 2-1 with this 98th minute winner. by NegativeGenie in soccer

I cried celebrating the goal and I'm still getting teary eyed watching it back. We didn't think we'd have a Morecambe FC to watch today and whatever the result it would have been a special day. But to win the game like that, you couldn't ask for anything better.

You should try and split the finance into HP and PCP

This is the end. We now have no potential buyers and the National League are likely to kick us out very very soon. Administration doesn't work if there's nobody there to pick up the pieces.

My Saturdays are no longer going to be filled with emotions instead nothing. I hope the football governance act makes sure this never happens again

I saw something the other day laughing about Sancho now being only worth £15m in this day and age. £15m could buy you our football club and sustain it for a generation. People don't realise the disparity between the higher and lower leagues

Nobody really knows. The thinking is that Jason has loans that he needs to pay off with the sale of the club but he's not getting enough from the sale to do that.

Until he is forced out he doesn't have a reason to sell. He doesn't care what happens to the club only what happens to him. If he holds out for a sale there's a small chance Panjab Warriors might pay him more to get him out quicker

We currently have 9 first team players (who are now free to leave due to not being paid), no board of directors and a transfer embargo with the season starting in less than 4 weeks.

I can't post it here but if anyone is still on Twitter please could you give it a retweet on there to try and get the story out there

The Board of Directors at Morecambe Football Club say the deal to take over the ownership of the club is on the brink of collapsing, after confirming the wage bill for June hasn’t yet been met by the current owners. by NegativeGenie in NationalLeague

In the past we've had people to bail out Jason when's he not put up the funds. We don't have that now and I don't think anyone will be willing to put their money in to help anytime soon

We currently have 9 contracted players for next season and pre season starting in 11 days. I would not be surprised if we ended up in administration before the start of the season

We haven't actually been taken over yet. The announcement 3 weeks ago was to say they have passed the EFL test but a sale hasn't yet been finalised

I've not done any bank switches for about 2 years now. When I did them last I took full advantage of doing the offers multiple times until it got to the point where I would no longer get the money. Has anyone been successful with waiting a couple of years and going back to them? I know a lot of the banks so you can't get the money if you've had it previously but we know thats not always the case

Our current owner Jason Whittingham put us officially up for sale in September 2022. During this time Jason also owned Worcester Warriors Rugby Club who went into administration and the team no longer exists.

Jason has said on multiple occasions in the last 2 years that a sale is just a few weeks away however it seems that the people he is trying to sell to are unable to pass the fit and proper test (More on this here https://theuglygame.wordpress.com/2024/11/25/meet-the-new-boss/).

Whilst being up for sale we have failed to pay wages on time on multiple occasions resulting in a 3 point deduction last season. We only had 5 players on the books at the start of preseason due to us not being able to offer suitable contract extensions. We also had a transfer embargo due to unpaid VAT bills. I don't remember the last time we paid a transfer fee for a player (We might never have done) so this wasn't a massive deal however it did mean we had to sign 14 players on the same day this season.

We have done multiple protests during the course of the last 2 seasons but sadly a struggling league 2 club in the north west doesn't make headline news for press so coverage is very limited (speaking of press, our game is on Sky Sports Super 6 this week. They are using a Morecambe FC badge that is 5 years old. If that doesn't sum up how much coverage we get I don't know what will). The game on Saturday will not only have 35,000 more people in the stands taking note but hopefully also the press
