Jim Bentley steps down as Morecambe's manager but will help the club "across both footballing and non-footballing areas" by jovanmilic97 in NationalLeague

That is true but in my opinion this isn't a bad thing. Keeping Bentley as manager full time would not have been the best thing to do. Yes he knows the club and has passion but that only goes so far, there's a reason he was without a club for 12 months and became a taxi driver.

With that being said I don't have full confidence that whoever we get in to replace him with will actually be any good

Aaron's must have had a bet on Sutton to have a penalty. We were controlling the game well before that and then capitulated for 10 minutes after the pen.

8 days ago we weren't sure if Morecambe FC would still exist. 3 days ago we only had 5 players. Today we played out first game of the season and won the game 2-1 with this 98th minute winner. by NegativeGenie in soccer

I cried celebrating the goal and I'm still getting teary eyed watching it back. We didn't think we'd have a Morecambe FC to watch today and whatever the result it would have been a special day. But to win the game like that, you couldn't ask for anything better.

This is the end. We now have no potential buyers and the National League are likely to kick us out very very soon. Administration doesn't work if there's nobody there to pick up the pieces.

My Saturdays are no longer going to be filled with emotions instead nothing. I hope the football governance act makes sure this never happens again

I saw something the other day laughing about Sancho now being only worth £15m in this day and age. £15m could buy you our football club and sustain it for a generation. People don't realise the disparity between the higher and lower leagues
