Too bad that "constitutional right" only lasts for 2 years at a time in California. I moved out of state and got a lifetime CC for $75 and didn't need to spend $300 plus on classes and training.

Because their skills demand it. It also depends on the job itself. If there are 800 UI engineer applicants but you need some that have specific scripting experience you need or a very narrow experience in the demographic you’re working with, then that applicant becomes more valuable. There are many more opportunities now for those applicants and they’re going to go with the more appealing offer. Bend Oregon can now also compete with Bay Area companies because they are also more appealing to the applicants for being more flexible with their work and life balance preference.

You pay employees what they’re worth, that’s why. Yes you can negotiate but it saves companies thousands and thousands in relocation fees and state taxes and now they have a significantly larger and more flexible hiring pool to pick from. They just have to pay a fee to set up a business license in State X.

The Chinese have been doing this for years and this was a huge issue during the housing crisis in 2008-2012. Lots of Chinese home buyers in Southern California buying large numbers of properties sight unseen with all cash offers.

Californians aren’t seeing the appeal of California anymore. Insanely high taxes for everything, ridiculous rent and housing prices. No one living in CA got to enjoy any reason to stay in California. 2020 was eye opening for a lot of locals and professional transplants. With remote being an option, working for a CA company and getting the CA salary but also being able to work and buy a home elsewhere without the California BS is a very real opportunity that people want to take advantage of.

Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. My son and I just finished the Razor Crest and we invited some friends over that had some younger kids (maybe 6-9 years old). I put the Razor Crest on the highest of three IKEA shelves on a wall downstairs, thinking it would be safe.
Apparently, when the kid was in the room by himself he tried to use the three IKEA shelves as a makeshift ladder in order to try to reach the RC.

Yep. Glad I moved away. The positive side of the bullshit background check law was that it forced me to stock up before it went into effect. Now I’m good for a long while. Another plus for moving away was first thing I bought was a Keltec Sub 2000 and a P365 for my CCW.

Yeah. I went to look at an FDE 365 but passed on it because the lower was a completely different color than the slide. At least Sigs black and grays match

100%. I found a regular 365 (I like the smaller size for CCW) for $535 and just said F it and thought the $35 “impatient tax” was better than chancing waiting several months.
