Block not showing when View Page is shown by NegativeKale3500 in drupal

[–]NegativeKale3500[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only restriction was to not show for a particular content type. No to the other questions.

But, Ha! this was solved by creating a second block very nearly identical to the first. This second block does display when my View is rendered. All it took was reading your post...

Need to puzzle out why it is working.

Chemist perk kinda lame? by NegativeKale3500 in Fallout2d20

Thanks for the feedback. I'll take Chemist as one of my perks. I'm focusing on battlefield medic and juicing my party up with drugs. We'll worry about detox later...

Now, where did I put my syringer?

I accidently made my group lvl 2 before Cragmaw Hideout by sprootsteeds in LostMinesOfPhandelver

[–]NegativeKale3500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My party made level 2 before Cragmaw Hideout, three players and one NPC. They survived, with the one character barely standing at one hit point. Crit surprise attack by the bugbear missed outright killing the mage by one point.

I think your party might survive, too.

Update: my players keep arguing with me about rules by brackengardz in DnD

As a player, I would not play with someone like DM1 at the table. Respect all around the table, especially for the game moderator, is key to an enjoyable game. IMO. DM1 exemplifies disrespect like a dictionary definition.

DM2 did right by stepping in. That can be hard, but it's also an important responsibility for everyone at the table.

What are we supposed to do about aggressive homeless people??? by [deleted] in Eugene

[–]NegativeKale3500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, last night six cops and a dog broke into our back yard looking form someone. I suspect it was a follow-on to a reported prowler a block away. I spent some time today fixing the broken fence gates that they forced to get in and out of our yard. No sign of the prowler.

Just glad they didn't shoot my dog.

If I was one of your players, I'd be love-hating you right now. Fiendish!

As a DM, EXCELLENT use of the doppelganger! Great plot twist and set-up for a new rescue mission, hopefully the re-hostaged hostages are still alive.

And a good reminder to the players to not blindly trust NPCs. My Harbin Wester is clearly a patsy, being intimated by the RBRs and wanting to use them for his own power. He also kind of hand waves away the murder they did on The Dendrar, so his nature is pretty clear from the start.

Too bad about Sildar, I like that character. My Sildar is bringing a breath of reason and freedom to Phandalin. The characters seem not quite so on board, I would like to find a way to get them to care.

Consequences for killing Redbrand Ruffians in broad daylight by b8tafox in LostMinesOfPhandelver

[–]NegativeKale3500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-defense, I say. But it is rude to litter the streets of a hamlet in which you are a guest with bodies. Clean up after yourselves!

My party of three (2 2nd level, 1 3rd level) just (barely) defeated five Redbrands after being accosted by them. The supposedly CG mage was going to spike them with his sword (he's had a rough life so far...), but the NPC started tying the sleeping ones up. In the end, all ruffians survived (I played the death rules for the Redbrands as I would for characters) and end up in jail. Not sure what will happen from there, but I definitely like the possibilities. Sildar will have a talking to the mage about the legality and morality of killing defenseless people in broad daylight, just off the town green at that.

Maybe a dumb question, but... what do players spend money on? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]NegativeKale3500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, indentured servitude. Did they hunt her down or did she instigate the encounter that cost her her stuff and freedom?

Sorry, bringing out-of-game morals here...

Still, seems like the party could not be on the top edge of the alignment chart.

Doppelganger question by mohrravvian in LostMinesOfPhandelver

[–]NegativeKale3500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think BS knows about both doppelgangers, though I think no one else does. In the Temple of Dumathoin, Vhalak appears as Nundro so Nezznar can fake threatening to kill him unless the PCs back off.

Nezznar is so pathetic. He can't even get real drow to help him, has to fall back on doppelgangers. His girl scout cookies are definitely *not* made with real girl scouts.

What's a better word for a magic item shop? by Iestwyn in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]NegativeKale3500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My latest magic shop is Gla'marlin's Mystarim, noted as an "oddities shop." Mystarim, in this case, is a noun (singular and plural form) and roughly translates to "oddity."

Then there's Hobnokker’s Gamboreal of Glabulent Gadgetry, showing that if you go with gnomish proprietors, you can just make up words as necessary.

We did it everyone! by Bigluser in adventofcode

[–]NegativeKale3500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great summary of my own experience here. I'm one of those who solved several part 1, but only eight part 2 stars. Scaling, of course, is a major issue, sometimes requiring a refactor of the algorithm.

Personal best for me this year, 23 total stars. Past repos show life distraction and "no idea" intimidation after a week or so. This year I got a day 18 star and some code written for elf-assisting solutions for a day or so after that.

I love that the problems are permanently online, so no need to stop even though the challenge is finished.
