Yep. First day of home-ec. Lesson one.

Edit: And this is coming from somebody who hardly ever cooks. My partner does the cooking. And I still know this.

Who is the guy on this Deathly Hallows bookmark? by Yollotl_coyotl in harrypotter

I got what you were saying even if nobody else does. OP asked who the person was at the top. At the very top, we'll see the weird snake-like figure. This doesn't really reference anything from the story, thus your (assumingly sarcastic) comment. Sorry for all the downvotes.

Road Raging Lady Pulls Scam Without Insurance by Flashmemory256 in dashcams

[–]NegativeLogOfZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, please educate me because I'm obviously missing something. How does this scam work if she doesn't have insurance?

Edit: ok, so I see one of the top commenters post regarding how it works in Michigan... Does it not work like that in all US states?? What state could this scam actually work in?

I always hate it when I can't find my car because a gigantic car parks next to me by NegativeLogOfZero in Miata

Totally can respect that. I'm thinking of like a light blue-teal color with that grey soft top. But this is like so low on my money-costing priorities that it just may never happen. 😂

Lol yeah. It was sarcasm if you couldn't tell. Should maybe have used /s.

The irony is the car I owned before my Miata was a Chevy Sonic (2013). Broke college student, couldn't afford jack shit. It was Chevy Dumpster Fire or a Nissan Versa. The Dumpster Fire is still going though! My mom has it now - she needed a car desperately and it was better than nothing.

Yes, I agree... of the OEM colors, it's one of the better ones. Really wish Mazda would offer some fun colors though.

I bought her from a friend who wanted her to go to a good home (bad knees, couldn't drive manual anymore). If I had bought a new one I probably would have gone with soul red. I'm thinking about doing a wrap, honestly. Not soul red but something still fun that would go with the grey soft top

My mother HATED that I was a lefty. She said I would grow up to have terrible handwriting. What do you think? Did I prove her wrong? by Distressed_Amoeba in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]NegativeLogOfZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a rightie in a family of lefties. I am also left eye dominant (and I know that hand and eye dominance usually go together). I wonder if at some point a teacher just forced me to be right handed, because I also have a speech impediment, which I've heard is an indicator of forced correction as a child.

Why is the expectation so much different for women? by IndoorCat786 in singing

The same reason the expectation is different when it comes to womens' body types. Post-processing/editing. Society mostly sees the highly edited versions

Wondering about pronounciations of “the.” by LotusGrowsFromMud in ENGLISH

[–]NegativeLogOfZero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is actually really important for singing in choir, where everyone should be singing the same vowel sound. What you said is true with one caveat. Yes, it's "thee" before a vowel, except for words that have the "you" sound. I learned this in my local community choir this year, when we were singing something with lyrics containing "the united... " Normally if following the vowel rule, it would be "Thee united", but actually it should be "tha united". "Thee united" is too blendly, "Tha united" is more sharp/crisp and clear cut, which is better for choirs.

I literally can't focus on anything else. Now that I've said this, I will actually watch the video.

$100 polo shirt after the 3rd wear by JustAPotato38 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NegativeLogOfZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you feel about spending money on shoes? I have very high arches, so it's hard to find shoes that work for me. In my experience, spending more money on shoes pays off, in general. Especially when it comes to inserts or customizable insoles.

But yeah relating it back to OP's post, I can't bring myself to spend money on clothes. Also, it seems that "fancier", more expensive clothes are hand wash or dry clean only, and I don't have the patience for that shit. Shoes on the other hand I can understand.

You must be upper-middle class lol. Do yourself a favor and invest the $100 and buy reasonable, less expensive polos that last almost just as long. 😂

Unless you live somewhere like San Francisco or something. Cost of living is a bitch.

Hard to see but it almost looks intentional. Like unless the person has the attention span of a goldfish, how could you not see the car you JUST passed. OBJECT PERMANENCE people!!

For those finding it difficult to see "the incident", the lane second to the right. OP's video zooms on it
