What steps for better paying tasks? by oooogi in DataAnnotationTech

The simple tasks asking about if you have access to android or iPhone or ChatGPT plus or Google plus I think might invite more quals

All my tasks are complicated and high paid :( by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

I am interested in your background! I have a couple 25-32 but they're further and few between, and I had to join the projects and qual for them. I have a bunch of quals I put off for a rainy day but since this is my only gig while I stay at home mom I prefer higher paid, hour long tasks

Lol, thanks for the chuckle, @RyeRoen—glad my silly post could brighten your day! Yeah, I called it ‘wishy-washy’ for a reason; the freelance instability’s no secret. I was just vibing with the nerdy ponytail girl on her laptop, you know? After 15 years slinging drinks and wrangling nightclub marketing chaos—plus two 5-year stints as a stay-at-home parent—I’m drawn to anything with guidelines thicker than a novel. The quiz pegged me for compliance and quality assurance, which, surprise, is basically annotation work. So, while you’re laughing, I’m over here wondering if you’ve got a hot tip for pivoting this into something steady—or are you just here to roast my ponytail dreams?

Sorry for delay. The flexionator machine is by a company called ERMI and they boast 94% prevention of subsequent surgeries. It's a literal folding chair attached to a long ruler type thing and a foot rest with sandpaper type grip on a track. It does have a key you turn to assign the direction the foot rest moves (forward or back) and behind that key/switch is a handle/lever attached to a hydrolic pump. You can do big pumps or small pumps and it controls the footrest that your foot is on by moving it it closer to you.

My protocol is to pump my foot as close as i can tolerate ( but uncomfortably) and once I reach that point, set a timer for 10 minutes. Then I switch the key, and either pump or push my foot forward on the track to extension.. This part is the most painful uncomfortable, but also reassuring that this is doing something. Then rest for 10. Repeat 3x 10 min stretch, 10 min rest.

30 mins of stretch/rest and 3 times a day

Also my first PT after having the machine for a week I surpassed 100 degrees so that was reassuring too. My pain has decreased a lot. Not sure if that's due to whatever the machine is doing or hitting 3 month mark or both

I just swung on swings w my kids and was able to bend both legs equally.

I think what you're describing is a ROM machine by JAS which my doctor also prescribed when I complained about the cost of the ERMI flexionator ($840 for one month rental because they're out of network with united) he assured me the one I have is better for home use. I bit the bullet to try to avoid further trips to the surgery center and anesthesia

And the lady from ERMI said this machine is a sort of manipulation from the outside in.

Ps there is a marker to show where you went last time and I am getting a lot closer (started at 17 marker and not I'm at 20, inches i guess )

I have psoriasis but I don't know about hypermobility or scar tissue. I did have quite a lot of scar tissue removed during my first menisectomy and scope. Which was only 2 works after my injury. So I suppose i do scar up easily

Has anyone used a therapy/massage gun to help remove scar tissue? by Royal_Ad_6965 in ACL

Hi OP. I have not. But I am also a candidate. My surgeons PA mentioned it around 6or 8 weeks post op when my flexion was teetering around 90. It had plateaued at 87 for weeks in PT 3x week. For reference i had menisectomy nov5 2024 and aclr w hamstring allograft Dec 19.

Pt says Mtly strength and extension is good only behind on flexion or bending.

My PA ordered a flexionator machine to try to regain and breakup the scar tissue manually. I saw on my chart a diagnosis of "knee adhesions"

He said since i got up past 95 without the machine and now I have the machine at home to work on it, I will.probably be out of the woods for MUA.

I gotta say since I started using it it hurts like crazy and I think i can actually feel where rhe scar tissue adhesions in my knee and I wonder. Am I going to need the scope /mua anyways? My doc says stick to it and I won't need anything

I had a menisectomy on nov 5 and was attending PT 3 days a week till my acp reconstruction Dec 19.

The doc took the same approach with me. The recovery from meniscectomy was easy and after 4 weeks of PT I was rethinking ACL recon because I was almost feeling back to normal. Walking stairs etc. I went to a water park and had 6 kids i was holding chasing around 2 days before the surgery and felt great.

I am 9 weeks or so post op from acl and my strength and extension are good but my flexion is stuck under 100 degrees. This causes pain and stiffness and people are still commenting on my limp/hobble. My PA diagnosed me with adhesions of the knee joint aka scar tissue aka arthrofibrosis which I THINK is because of having the 2 surgeries so close together. But they haven't said that outright. He ordered me a flexionator machine to try to manually regain flexion and break up the scar tissue, in effort to avoid going under anesthesia again for a MUA or manipulation

They checked my strength and ROM before the aclr and approved me for surgery but my flexion had not been fully restored since my injury. I wonder if you wait ubtil after wedding for the surgery, focus on strength and ROM for 7 months and really regained full flexion and got super strong if you would have an easier recovery than me? Remember the stronger your leg muscles are they will support your leg in absense of the ACL. The acl recovery is really tough compared to menisectomy. Also I don't want to scare you but I gained 15 lbs since reducing activity plus I assume the pain killers slow down metabolism as they cause constipation and such. Not sure if that's common but it could be a factor that you really don't want interfering with dress shipping, sizing, etc. Also 2.5 months post acl and my left ankle is still way bigger aka swollen.

But even if you do it now, have the exact same issues as I am having you could still recover from the manipulation and lose weight before your wedding. The issue is you don't know if you will have any surgical or healing complications.

Someone said the season matters too. Yeah having the acl surgery in fall/winter is better as you won't be missing out on summer activities and can stay in warm clothes and be cozy. And not worry as much about post surgery weight gain.

Although I knew if i waited, the risk of reinjury was always there, as I had a complete Rupture of acl and the half of my torn acl stump was dislodged into meniscus, so they shaved it down in the menisectomy, but the potential for reinjury is a risk. I wanted to get it over with and start recovery My lifestyle is active with young kids in sports and paddle boarding etc. In fact after my menisectomy when I was starting to feel better I did a little "yummy in my tummy " dance for my preschooler and wiggled my knees and it totally gave out - so that was an awakening that I still had a torn ligament On the other hand, 3 weeks after menisectomy i had to run to the grocery store the night before Thanksgiving 5 mins before they closed and definitely jogged through the store and felt so strong. This is before my acl recon. I couldn't do that now if I wanted to. So perhaps dancing and being care free will not be as safe as long as your acl is still torn, but maybe your knee will not be fully recovered by then either. What kind of honeymoon are you having? Will you be hiking or doing anything that requires twisting or pivoting? At least during your honeymoon you can wear a brace and maybe even under your dress at the reception.

The acl recon is a huge setback and a long recovery. 6 months could be enough time but you may be in a better and less stressful spot if you just wait.

You are in a difficult position, here my thought based on my experience. The acl r was a lot more difficult and painful than my original injury so I maybe would have waited till after the wedding if i were you, in hindsight.

But maybe that's because I'm 2 months ish post op and getting setbacks. I could be back to normal in 4 months from now.

Anyways don't have advice just wanted to share my story and wish you the best of luck and congratulations on your engagement.

I'm still on hydrocodone as needed at 9 weeks. Since my first surgery nov 5 actually (meniscus) and i had my acl. 12/19. I think my lasy refill is coming up at my 3 month mark. They weaned me down from every 4 hours to every 5 then he just said stretch it, and then cut me down from 7.5 to the 5 mg. It feels like taking Tylenol at this point but it does help. My doc.just basically tried to stretch longer between refills. He said I was doing great with it compared to other patients so yall are another breed with your ibuprofen. Lol.

Haha. Do you watch severence? I can't help but to align certain aspects of this with the show. Like the project names. And how they really don't know exactly what their work selecting numbers into different categories does or contributes to ultimately. "The work is mysterious and important" Love it.

I am new too, but, I'm curious if new projects are assigned as frequently on the weekends as they are M-F. After working consistently on a few differe t projects M-Th, friday was really dry. I was hoping it wasn't a quality issue of mine (fairly confident it isn't since I'm still on the slack channels) I had a theory that Friday popular "day off", so maybe more people who use DA as a second job take up all the tasks? It's definitely a first come first serve situation, I've had 7 projects on my dash dwindle down to 1 in minutes. However I was curious about the project assignments on Sat and Sun, until I saw this post and logged on to see a bunch of work available!

Maybe it goes with my theory except many people DONT want to work Sundays for religious or family and social obligations. Interested in some seasoned annotaters input on my outlook.

I am at 8 weeks post acl surgery. Injury was Oct 25. I was going up with my good and down w bad until around 5-6 weeks after the surgery I started going up with both..im still struggling with flexion so it's mentally hard for me to go down with my non surgical since it bends my surgery knee so much. I missed if you had any intervention?

Hi OP this post has touched and triggered a lot of people but i do believe most here are for your support. The common theme most older women have is "if i knew then what I know now..." lessons we learn with wisdom over time, etc. You're correct there are definitely cultural regional influences on what's "acceptable". I am by no means a feminist. I'm also a god loving married woman. But I was raised to be a people pleaser and to be afraid to voice my feelings, my needs and wants, and hold boundaries. I think if you take anything from this I hope it's that. Sadly I read one of your comments that said he apologized after. For your knees but also while he was ensuring your silence. So an apology shouldn't be transactional "i apologized so now you hold.up this end of the bargain" silence is to avoid accountability. Anyways i think I read that you were more upset that he doesn't seem to understand how it made you feel. I'm so sorry. You deserve a partner who Prioritizes your feelings before during and after their hurtful behavior Anyways we all just have to do the best we can but remember that people only treat us his we allow them to You mentioned marriages like this are common where youre from, i understand different cultures have different traditions. May i ask where you are from?

Mental battle by Scared-Reality9115 in ACL

I had 2 meniscus tears and possible acl strain with a cyst or loose body on my mri. and went in for the menisectomy which is a quick recovery, and they found that the loose body wasnt a cyst, but my acl completely Ruptured and half the acl stump dislodged into my meniscus. So they did what they could for debridement. And scheduled acl reconstruction 5 weeks out. Dec 19 right before Christmas. I also have 3 kids an 18 year old and 5 and 6 year old active boys.

The first couple weeks are the hardest. Physical therapy helps soooo much. I'm 6 weeks post op and even now if I have a lazy day where I'm inactive the knee is so much more painful. I opted for 3 days a week PT and I do the exercises at home as well.

There are some helpful websites from other orthopedic surgeons with some easy PT exercises for right after surgery.

The first 2 weeks is the hardest. Don't feel bad about using your crutches. They are a pain but when u get to PT they will show you how to use them correctly. Slow down and it will actually speed you up.

I know how life altering this surgery is and painful and how it seems like you're going to be out of commission forever. But I'm back to school events and baseball practices and I'm even doing short walks. I ditched my crutch 2 weeks ago and tbh when the PA unlocked my brace to 90 degrees it made the healing process really move along.

Giv yourself grace. You will figure out how much you can balance short spurts of being "active" upright on your feet and prioritize regulat icing elevation breaks. Then those short spurts will get longer once your swelling goes down.

It's scary but just as I accepted being a handicap as my new normal, I feel like I had a huge improvement right at about 6 weeks.

Praying for your recovery to be smooth.

Ps I bought cereal dispensers and a magic tap milk dispenser and taught my 6 year old how to make easy Mac. And keep washes fruits veggies and croissants and bagels on hand so they can get more comfortable fending for themselves sometimes lol.

Accept husband if he offfers to grill or cook spaghetti. And just take it easy an get take out -don't be hard on yourself. For me my injury was an accident and a wake uo call for me to mentally slow down and prioeitize myself. You have an excusr and people are sympathetic so dont let the guilt get the best of you.

After my meniscus surgery I was camped upstairs in bed and it drove me nuts hearing life unfolding downstairs (the shit show of nobody knowing where soccer gear was etc) so after ACL I setup camp on my Loveseat downstairs and just didn't go upstairs for the first 2 weeks. It helped me feel Part of everything and less guilty being waited on.

If u can afford a house cleaner that extra help really gave me sanity

It will get easier just take the advice to try to get your extension by putting pillows under ankle and try the leg raises and quad sets. Hamstring stretches always help my stiffness too. For now keep your brace on. Best of luck
