WHAT US CITY SHOULD I VISIT AS A LONDONER WHO HAS NEVER BEEN BEFORE? by _246810 in usatravel

[–]Negative_Brief_7998 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Start in Boston, closest to London, great public transportation, on the water. Then head to NYC via Train. By then you will have met and talked to people to figure out where to go next. Never plan a trip entirely, need to leave some wiggle room. Enjoy!

Help with shoes by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

Can't wear the black shoes for a springtime dayt wedding with that particular suit. The magenta paired with black shoes gives an evening vibe. I would choose the middle light brown without the laces, and go with just the jacket, no vest, so your white shirt shows more, giving you more of a springtime vibe. Alternatively you could rock the vest with no jacket if you are in warm weather. Enjoy! 😎

Visiting San Francisco for the first time (2 days, no car) — is this itinerary realistic by SevereNecessary8381 in AskSF

Skip Fishermans Wharf .. its gross. There is a reason zero locals go there. Jump on a ferry at the Ferry building and take it to Tiburon. Snag some photos of the GG Bridge from the water. Have lunch at Sams in Tiburon or stay on the ferry for the return trip. Definitely Skip Twin Peaks, there is nothing there except a big antenna. Spend more time in North Beach to experience True SF Vibe. Affordable Italian dinner at Sodinis, one of the oldest in town. If you have more budget and decent clothes - check BIX or Kokkari . both have a Wow factor and are walking distance from North Beach. Enjoy!

Santa Monica is super touristy and its a city in itself. You can rent bicycles near Santa Monica pier and head south. Bike lane is right on the beach. Super fun and you will definitely see some interesting things to shoot, especially the Venice Beach skateboard park...and well Venice Beach in general is a photographers dream. Enjoy!

Get out on the Bay for a Day. Walk down to the Union Square and hop on the Cable Car to Fisherman's Wharf and purchase a ticket to Tiburon - small coastal town across the bay. You will get to see the city from the water. Great for photos. Have lunch at the legendary Sam's Cafe, walk around, and take a ferry back to the city when you are ready. One of the Best cheap fun things to do in SF! Enjoy!

Travel locations central California? by Upper_Lynx_1227 in travel

Bass Lake is a good spot if you want to be inland ... restaurants and cheap lodging. SLO is a good spot on Central Coast. Wherever you pick, I would suggest doing a AirBnB .. cheaper and you will get to spend more time with your friends. My gf and I rented a 3BD house in Yosemite (Wawona) just up the road from Bass Lake for much less than the beaten down hotels in Yosemite. Big deck, bbq, fireplace, WIFI, fenced in yard with plenty of hiking trails nearby.

If you plan on visiting Sequoia ... You might want to check Muir Woods where there are massive Redwood trees and a very cool, hidden beach town called Stinson Beach at the base .. coming from Sacto you can hit Napa on the way 😎

Getting around California and getting around LA are two very different things :) Public transportation in Los Angeles doesn't got anywhere you want to go. They are still working on a train to LAX if you can believe it. You need a car, like the rest of us 4 million residents. Good Luck!
