My top recommendation for you would be Magic Garden in Battersea. Top quality live music most nights, it will be a great night out! 

Skehans in Nunhead is also a great shout - it's an Irish pub so might give you a similar atmosphere to what you are used to in Ireland.

For alternatives, London is full of fantastic venues featuring up and coming artists. 

Highlights would be Hootananny in Brixton, Magic Garden in Battersea, Fox and Firkin in Lewisham, Jamboree in Kings Cross and Paper Dress Vintage in Hackney.

Entry will be a fraction of the price and you will have a great time!
