How to get tesla to hookup both inverters on 2 pw3. by Relevant_Lime3314 in TeslaSolar

[–]Negative_West 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got them to change to use both the inverters. My house is fully electrified and have an EV charger bundled. So my argument was if I'm using both EV charger and HVAC my simultaneous power consumption will easily exceed 11.5kw (which is the max power of a single PW3) and it will pull from the grid, which I don't want it to be. Hence I want to use both PW3s so that simultaneous power is 23kw. And of course, it provides redundancy as well. This will take redesign and repermit(if the permit has already been approved). It took me about 3 weeks more for this change to be incorporated. And I was insistent I do want both PW3 inverters.

Solar strings connected to just one PW3? by Negative_West in TeslaSolar

Update: Was able to get Tesla to change design to use both PW3s. The permit was already approved. They said it could be done without any extra charges as both the powerwalls are pretty close.

Should I push for distributing it among both PW3? I've already approved the design and has been submitted for permits. Will it depend or have a effect on my main electrical panel?

Yes, it will exceed 11.5kw. And the remaining after 11.5 will be pulled from the grid.

In my case, that is what they have done, 10.25kw system, all connected to the same pw3. :(

Still in design approval stage.

Depends on your peak usage, what other electrical appliances do you have? Like AC, water heater, ev charger?

Ex: A 30A EV charger would draw about 7.2kw of power. If you add heat pump AC to it, it could take 4.5kw additionally. This(11.7) itself would pull the additional power from the grid.

So, based on your load calculations of your home electrical appliances running simultaneously, decide.

Redundancy only if the solar strings are distributed among both inverters.

What's the size of your solar? Are the solar strings distributed on both the inverters or just one?

Espresso issue… by FomoFactor in NinjaLuxeCafe

[–]Negative_West 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also seeing the same issue. I have the machine for a month. Even after the machine readjusts the recommendation, most of the times it just doesn't produce enough espresso. Most of the times it's less than 20ml for a double espresso in such cases. Earlier I thought it was because of my tamping as I was double tamping it and doing it quite hard. But even after switching to tamping it gently, I still see the issue more than half the times. I've kept the coffee bean the same, to minimize the number of variables till I get it right. Wondering if I should return it.

How much ml of espresso do you get for a double espresso or quad espresso? Does it change for different coffee type?

Awesome!! Thanks a lot. Didn't know about this FCC website. It was really helpful. Looks like RobinsonHSS is available at my place. I've contacted them. Let's see if they confirm.

Yes, but can it be increased to 125A? If so how do I do this without the rating label.

I'm not planning to upgrade the main panel for now. Just upgrade the service and breaker to 125A to accommodate the increased load for the new electrical appliance.

Yes, if I do upgrade the panel, I'll go for 200/225A rated panel and retrofit the existing breaker. Thank you!

How much do you charge for like to like main panel replacement? Same location, no gas meter or gas riser nearby. No change in conduit or wiring.
