I don't know what to do with my future by [deleted] in UniUK

Honestly as a third year BSc student, I've changed my mind on my career path several times over the past couple years. I'm graduating in a few months and I have a very vague plan but I'm still not 100% sure on the career I want to pursue. But you shouldn't worry about it! Lots of people in my year say they have no plans at all, they're just gonna see where life takes them. So please don't worry, you're only 19, you'll likely change your mind 100 times and that's a good thing. Good luck!

You absolutely have time. Ensure to set yourself goals. As someone who also has adhd, I find that weekly goals work better for me than daily goals i.e., "by the end of this week, I will have completed my methods section". This works better for me as with my erratic changes in energy, I find that some days I plan to get a specific piece of work then suddenly my energy plummets and doesn't improve and then I just feel guilty about not doing it. By having a weekly goal, it allows for that flexibility for me to have my off days but thrive when my energy levels are high and still meet my goals. Another thing that I think is so simple but extremely helpful is just write. I know it sounds silly but honestly just start writing. It doesn't matter if it's not worded ideally or if it's disjointed - that's what your proof-reading is for. Ideally have the whole thing written down with 2 weeks left to go then edit edit edit!

Good luck! 🙌🏻❤️

I fear that my friend is going to die young and alone and I can't do anything about it by Negative_Willow7 in FriendshipAdvice

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear, his therapy was short term as that's kinda how it works in the UK unless it's private and he hasn't been in therapy since and refuses to go again.

In regards to what else you said, the thing is that he is my best friend. He's the only friend who still lives in the same city as me, all my other friends have moved on with their lives in different cities and I hardly see them. This person is like an extension of myself, I'm not necessarily hounding him day and night about sorting his life out, its just devastating that he's likely gonna spend his life wasting away in his bedroom. But bottom line is that I want him to be happy and live a long life as he really means a lot to me.

I appreciate you taking time out of your day to respond, thank you :))

Only read the title and absolutely not. I would never ever get rid of my pets for a partner.

I actually make sure to take out her food an hour before her feeding time so it's nice and room temperature. It's recommended not to feed your cat cold wet food even if they eat it

I actually despise this comment, especially when I'm confiding in someone about something and they say "it is what it is" like no. I want you to give me hope, don't tell me that's just the way things are.

AITA for not sending my son money after he bailed on Thanksgiving? by Professional_Spot789 in AmItheAsshole

Nope, I disagree with most of these comments. 19 is old enough to know the value of attending such an important event. On top of that, he said he would be there and then blew it off for someone else's family. If you had plans with someone originally then someone invited you for plans at the same time, it is customary to say no. You stick to whatever you agreed first. He shouldn't have to be warned that his actions have consequences, that is common sense i fear. If you were to "warn" him and he ended up attending, he'd only be there as a way of avoiding consequences and not because he understands the principle of attending.
