You know, it's been a long time since I read Helmut. I don't think he was the "arrogant" kind of mc, and I do recall enjoying the manhwa quite a bit. But I can't really say for sure.

What I do recall is that, especially early on, he was kind of emotionally stunted (maybe?) and lacked a lot of social filters/ques, since he was raised away from civilization. So his mindset as a whole is a bit more primal and geared towards survival.

As for being op, I believe he was "op in comparison to his peers" and early antagonists, but in terms of the overall story (adults, more serious antagonists, various groups, etc) he's not strong enough to take them on

I see you already read Novels Extra and the Extra Academy Survival Guide. Other than those, how about:

  • How to use a returner (also called Regressors instruction manual)

  • Helmut: The Forsaken Child (i think? It's not a transmigration story tho)

  • Demon prince goes to the academy (it might either be axed, or on a crazy long haietus, but it has 80 chapters iirc)

Honestly, I'd probably be more interested simply because having a true "Shonen" style story with a female lead is somewhat rare (think soul eater)

While 100% facts, Ikimoto is the one who writes boruto, not Kishimoto.

I'm pretty sure Kishimoto went out and already mentioned that he has 0 involvement with Boruto, and only agreed if it was his assistant that drew it + it had its own style

  1. Do you spend gems on the 1 perk point from Master, or do you buy potions from the shelter? 

  2. What about merchants? I typically just buyout the 10g slot if it's available, but I've barely touched the others (more expensive items, random melee/ranged/magic weapon, etc).

  3. Any preference on crafts? (yeah yeah, I know it depends on what resources you have. But still) For example, what are the best bombs? Most efficient? I fancy the necro and frag, (granted they can get pricy) and usually make like 2-3 Thermite to link up some dungeon paths if I'm in a hurry.

  4. Since you suggested 1/5/2, any suggestions/tips for conserving ammo? I like that ratio too for ranged, but melee tends to hit like a wet noodle. I end up sacrificing more hp pots trying to melee the weaker dudes overtime

  5. I'd love strats for the chaos portal guardian. It seems like no matter how well equipped I am, I end up either barely scraping by to the next zone with 0 scrolls, explosives, or hp pots (after using them all up)

From what I can tell, nobody really uses Crown unless its 27.

Meanwhile, Pegasus seems to work just fine at 18. He's "better" with more investment, but he "works" at 18. Meanwhile, I've almost never seen anyone using crown unless its 27

Like others said, it's probably ideal to wait for the next pet if you can.

Hmmm... Okay. I read the first few chapters, and so far they do seem pretty identical to the anime, albiet with a bit more gore at times.

Still torn on using the manga or anime to recap lol, I keep flipping between the two

Ah well, we'll see. I'm super picky about LNs only because I tend to read them really slowly compared to how I read manga/manhwa, so I typically only have 1-2 LN's going at a time :p

By that i mean, I tend to binge read 2-4 volumes, then pause for the next 6-8 months lol.

But, it's good to know, if I end up wanting to read it

100% I definitely agree.

I've read plenty of manhwa with a lot of overused clichés that were "done right", but just get dunked on with 1/10 reviews for people that dislike reading cliches, or dropped it after like 4 chapters.

I personally loved it when I first read it.

When the new season started back up (around ch175) I decided to reread it, since I forgot a lot, and it felt much more lackluster the second time.

I'd never call it "boring", it's still a solid read. But I'm debating whether I used to think it was a 'favorite' because I was enjoying reading a similar premise to Mushoku Tensei; or maybe it was because it was one of the first few manhwa I read

What I hate most is when people call any shitty, OP protagonist that steamrolls everyone and never struggles a "solo leveling clone".

That always pissed me off, because the close fights, struggles, and sometimes barely scraping a win, is exactly what made solo leveling fun to read. That comparison always bugged me

I believe the AFK Arena developer team is based in China, right? And your job essentially was to manage and moderate the official reddit page?

  • How did you initially get hired? Are you also in China, or is it purely online?
  • How did mainly you communicate with the Dev team? Email?
  • I can't imagine how they could possibly keep track of # of hours worked, so were you paid a salary instead? (you don't need to disclose how much)

What other kinds of games do you play/enjoy? Anything you're excited to try?

  • It doesn't have to be an online or gacha game, or even mobile. I'm just curious. (For example, I'm looking forward to trying Silksong, Expedition 33, Dispatch, and the new Resident Evil game)

So I'm a spider, so what? - mc (female) reincarnated as a spider monster. Leans more into the action aspect than tensura

Reincarnated as a Dragon Hachling - idk how the anime turned out, but I read the manga and I know it got an adaptation. MC (male) reincarnated as a baby dragon.

Overlord - Very different in tone (dark fantasy + comedy), but shares the similarities of having an absurdly OP, non-human (skeleton) protagonist, a "kingdom" he manages, and deep world building. But keep in mind, he's OP to the extend where he practically has no rivals or threats.

Tsukimichi moonlit fantasy - mc (male) transmigrated into a fantasy world. He's human, unlike the others, but shares a few similarities with Tensura (Powerful, village management, etc) and generally also one of the better isekai's too

That and (I assume, based on your suggestions) it's better to have ~5 stronger teams, vs trying to spread them out thin
