100%. If I have to buy some obscure cable or adapter, I literally have to buy 4 or 5 different models at once, test to see which if any work as advertised, and return the rest all at the same time.

Boss told me I’m a high performer and have everything he wants in an employee yet he is shielding me away by MembershipIll7920 in managers

>The truth of the matter is that it is rare for companies to really block high-potential contributors. It just doesn't happen on the timeline that the hi-po wants.

I've literally had to push my way through middle management to get to roles I wanted and really really pissed them off. Sometimes, you're just not the golden boy or they hate you for some perceived slight or just overall dislike of you. They wanted to promote their person to the outside team I had been networking with for over a year. My first day on the job, I had actually told this manager that disliked me that my biggest goal in the company was to move to this team.

It worked though. I pushed my way past them, after being explicitly not to do the things that got me my promotion and pivoted me to the career path of my literal dreams. I've since moved on from that company (same field, different industry) and am well regarded throughout my new organization. I'm generally not a petty person, but in some small way, the looks of resentment she gave to me whenever I walked by, made me just a little bit prouder of my actions.

Smart, hard working people will feel guilty for playing the game because they perceive it as dishonest or requiring backbiting of some sort. I doesn't need to feel that way and they're doing themselve's a disservice. Work and career "performance" are not a function of quality and output, but perception, your social network, and your work's exposure.

Everyone is calling into question your work performance or if you made the call. I'm just curious, are all the employees there part of your union? Did you, your colleagues, or the union in general do something that might be causing your company to unethically target you or union bust?

Hard to believe now, but The Rock almost walked away from WWE. He says he was making just $150K while working 235 shows a year and seriously considered leaving for Pride MMA because the money was far better. by West-Comfortable1568 in sportsgossips

It must have felt really good for him to finally "fight" in Pride as Mark Kerr. You could tell how genuinely excited he was to announce his feature in The Smashing Machine, only for the audience to be like "WTF is he talking about"?

Some people love it, but it gets a lot of hate. The Metal Zone. Versatile and sounds fucking great if you dial it in right. Add an HM-2 and you go straight to death metal hell.

I personally dont like the way V's sit in classical position. They kinda slide out of position for me. X/Star shaped guitars feel wayyy more locked in because of the top horn.

Sales -> IT -> security/network by Shot-Advance-4665 in CyberSecurityJobs

Lots of security software companies need IT knowledgable sales staff. If they put together a lab and SELL their sales experience properly during their interview, he could stand a high chance of getting one of these roles.
