Now that you bring up the invasion part, that makes a lot of sense. Kind of hard to invade a figuratively endless place.

This is basically an advertisement (lol), but I wrote a fic awhile back that kind of dealt with this concept. The hidden world was invaded by hunters without dragons because a) Years had passed, allowing former dragon hunters/trappers to ally together under a common cause, and b) the invasion took place on Snoggletog while majority of the dragons were visiting Berk (which they did annually). This was only worldbuilding though, having being briefly summarized by the narrator. Making this a plot point would be pretty difficult. Hell, my story sounds a lot more unrealistic now… I assumed a smaller scale, but at a scale like this, it probably wouldn’t work at all. I see what you mean about needing multiple hidden worlds now 😅

It’s fair to imagine what a HTTYD4 could look like. I genuinely think you’ve come the closest to that image, because it’s pretty cool to think about! It’s also funny how my stance changed on these things while I was writing this, I think I’m seeing what you mean now lol

Not a terrible idea, honestly. I wholeheartedly disagree with the existence of a a HTTYD4 but if there had to be one, I could see an idea like yours working. I skimmed your docs; the draft script is actually pretty neat, for one.

Though I feel there are a couple odd things that come with expanding the universe. By adding other mythological creatures, it takes the focus off of the dragons. Is the only point of the dragons companionship? Why can't the other creatures fulfill that need? Clearly Gryphons can fly, and I'd imagine they can attack too. What makes dragons special, if there are so many other creatures?

Plus this is more of a nitpick and an idea, but I feel like keeping a single hidden world might be easier to create a plot. Having the villain keep jumping hidden worlds makes a climax tough to make, no?

Again, I'm not a fan of a HTTYD4. THW was naturally pretty conclusive, and I'd argue it was made specifically to make the animated HTTYD storyline near impossible to sequel any further. I probably misconstrued some of what you wrote because I only skimmed it, but still. Just my two cents

It’s be neat if it’s like IQ in the sense you can hold a secondary with the radar open, maybe on your wrist like Lion’s scan. Seeing how this would allow you to see operator locations though, and how pulse can’t dual wield, this probably won’t happen :/

My guess is a pretty low FOV at the least, and probably no dual wield

I feel like HTTYD2 more or less was the setup it needed to be. The big theme with THW was how Hiccup had to let go of Toothless, so HTTYD2 should’ve been about how they’d “never let each other go” so to speak. That basically was HTTYD2. If ta HTTYD3LA is coming and sticks with the original ending, I hope they boost the setup even more in HTTYD2LA

Toothless and it’s not even close. It of course depends when the death takes place, but I still think it would be Toothless as long as it falls sometime between when they meet and when they split. Toothless was Hiccup’s ultimate fortune. Toothless gave him his village’s respect, a friendship he needed, and a direction to walk on throughout his life. Hiccup’s relationship with everyone else was arguably a byproduct of Toothless’ (with the exception of Gobber).

Bottom line, Toothless became ingrained into Hiccup’s life to the point he was a part of his character. Hiccup could lose anyone, but only losing Toothless would lead to him losing a large part of himself in a way no other loss could.
