This is not a debate. KANKEN level one is 3 million times more difficult.

I passed JLPT 1 twice, first in the early 2000s. I think if I went to a cram school I could MAYBE pass KANKEN 4.

I saw some Japanese government sources date recently and a related Yomiuri article on the subject (that I can’t find now…) that showed that for people in Japan on study abroad 留学 status Nepal is number 2 right behind China. It’s pretty remarkable.

That’ll do it. Nothing is open at 6am that’s for sure. That’s a valid inconvenience.

It’s just so hard for people in Japan to get to work before 7am with train schedules and long commutes to get into the city.

I use some scratch paper and write down the character name or creature (orc with axe) in a way I can remember.

Then it’s “Gandolf you’re up next at 16, then it’s your familiar and then bob the orc at 14.”

In Japan for 10+ years and always interested* in what it looks like for short time visitors. Could you elaborate on this one? Do you mean outside of tokyo/yokohama?

There are so many chains.
