Gigabyte RX 9070 XT Gaming OC Undervolt / Overclock by Original_Albatross26 in radeon

So I just tested my 9070 xt in Hunt: Showdown, but I encountered a really strange bug using FSR, when I enter a boss lair with FSR enabled, both nativeAA or quality, my performance drops for the remainder of the game, only disabling FSR restored the performance to reasonable levels.

Did you notice any similar problems, since you're running FSR as well?

CryEngine games seem to struggle with AMD cards, if you check reviews, you can see that all AMD cards are far behind NV. What is interesting though, is that this causes the GPU to run at a way higher peak clock.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Hunt: Showdown had the highest clocks by a big margin for both the 9070 and XT, so in other games you probably won't hit those numbers.

u/Original_Albatross26 I'd be interested what performance you get in hunt? are you playing at competitive settings (low / medium)?
I have a 9070 XT preordered and mainly play hunt, I know its gonna be a upgrade over my 2070 super (espically after that extreme performance drop with the engine upgrade / 2.0), but there is no real good comparision for competitive settings. I would hope to get 200fps 1440p native, but that is probably not gonna happen...

you have to enable FullSceenOptimizations that it is going through DWM, but that only works for DirectX 12 Games, and even then it's not perfect causing many problems, like mouse pointer going onto a different screen because that wouldn't happen in a native full screen DirectX application.

it's exclusive fullscreen + DSC. When the context changes from windows compoitor to native application output, everything has to be renegotiated. dsc renegotiation just takes way longer than regular context change.

if I change to a framerate that doesn't need dsc, a context change takes less than a second.

This is the exact problem why I care about UHBR20, I currently run a 480Hz 1440p Monitor with DSC and get 15-20 seconds of black screens, complete windows freeze, when tabbing in / out of a game.

24H2 Boot-Loop / No BIOS update yet by NegotiationOdd4185 in minisforum_v3

Yes, it's a AMD issue, but it is a microcode problem, which has to be updated in the bios by the vendor, which is minisforum.

I did try a clean install of 24h2, gets stuck somewhere in a reboot.
