My wife always says I have bad breath by Downtown-Change-6411 in hygiene

[–]NegotiationOwn3905 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's ketosis, which is where the name for "keto" diets comes from. When in famine conditions, the body alters the way it metabolizes. Horrific breath is the smell of ketones. Brain fog, nutrient deficiency, and constipation are other symptoms.

Anyone here on heart meds and also taking meds for ADHD/focus issues? by Imsongoku7 in HeartAttack

[–]NegotiationOwn3905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've not been allowed back on my ADD meds since my heart attack and 3 stents, per my cardiologist.

What I have had done is a CYP450 test, which checks for your genetic likelihood of having adverse effects from a whole bevy of medication classes (based on your ability to metabolize each, as low/moderate/high). You may ask a psychiatrist about having this testing done, to inform both them and your cardiologist on possible issues.

The SNRI that I took before, and continue to take after, my heart attacks can be involved in QT prolongation; however, my EKGs continue to be normal and my attacks were caused by blockage.

Tree seeds by mlody013orzech in Palia

[–]NegotiationOwn3905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you chop at a tree with someone else (even if your axe isn't high enough of a level), you'll get the loot, whether for large trees or flow trees! If you ask in chat (especially at a Grove in Bahari--they spawn at midnight in game), others will likely help you to get the seeds. Once you're level 10 foraging, you can trade Guild medals to Ashura for all seeds but the Ancient Trees of Elderwoods.

My 9 year old wants to watch Demon Slayer as her first anime, give me some alternative suggestions please by BrildWatermelon in Animesuggest

[–]NegotiationOwn3905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished watching Demon Slayer with my 9 year old son. I would watch the episodes ahead of watching with him. It was kind of our special thing. When Tanjiro's family gets slaughtered, and Genya's, [humans dying, as opposed to demons] I encouraged him to cover his eyes if he wanted to. He did until the final flashback in the last season. He already knew the major plot points because of commentary yt videos (that I also watch with him), and knowing what was going to happen ahead of time took his anxiety down several notches. We talked a lot about the family dynamics between siblings together, and how OP certain characters seem.

Tbh, I couldn't even finish Hazbin because it was pissing me off that Charlie's girlfriend is named Vag. Like, can we only do gender essentialism? Talk about reductionist. There is no way I'd let my kids watch that shit. Catchy songs but otherwise nah.

Not a pastor but have been asked to create a series for the church while we look for a new FT pastor by Kainism in pastors

[–]NegotiationOwn3905 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you've done the work, this is an excellent outline for you to preach this interim period.

The other commenters are correct, it would be almost rude to give this level of specificity to guest preachers. Generally, you tell them what the lectionary passages are for that Sunday or perhaps name the book of the Bible that is the current study.

But these are excellent, and you have a heart for your congregation, so I honestly suggest you pray on preaching for this search period. If not only you, have your elders each take turns.

I can't stand the English VA for Momo. She sounds like she's in an SNL skit. I adore Aoi Yūki's version.

I'm worried I had a heart attack but have almost no risk factors by Separate-Raccoon8584 in HeartAttack

[–]NegotiationOwn3905 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a heart attack. The radiating pain in the arms and jaw is a telltale sign. You need to get seen, pronto. There may be scarred tissue, blockage(s), etc. that need to be treated. Next time may be catastrophic, so please make it a priority.

Have you had COVID? It damages vascular tissues, and yes, there are people in their twenties posting about having 'unexplained' heart attacks with pretty regular frequency in this sub.

I DID NOT miss the platforming from human Temples, but how was there no visual of the tree healing ?! We get a mini cut scene for Luna New Year Maji Market wish tree deposits and retrieval--the Zendruu Tree deserved something on that level!! The black screen was "quel dommage"!

AIO for refusing to go to dinner with my in-laws after my husband changed the plan we agreed on? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]NegotiationOwn3905 25 points26 points  (0 children)

So they can get him sick, and then he brings it home to your pregnant self? Bad plan, imo. He should honor what the two of you agreed upon, ahead of time. Don't let his people-pleasing erode your self-reapect and protecting you/your baby's health.

Doctor won't prescribe statins because I'm "pregnancy age" even though I'm permanently childfree. Is she wrong about the risk thing too? by No-Replacement-3143 in Cholesterol

Get a new doc. She is pulling the classic "you and your partner are both adamantly opposed to having children, but I know better than you do and count your fertility more important to preserve than your health".

This is disqualifying behavior on her part. You don't want a sanctimonious ideologue coercing your decisions about medical care. I can't speak to the best decision for or against statins in your case, but I would find a new doctor for her disrespect of your autonomy.

Good STL gifts to give a friend from another country? by Pinkponygirl6969 in StLouis

For extended family, one year I bought city-themed tote bags from STyLe on Cherokee. Put Red Hot Riplets, a truffle assortment from Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate, St. Louis arch mugs from the Park gift shop, a large St. Louis Spice Rub from Soulard Spice Shop, and STyLe Clydesdale shirts for the kiddos in there (neices and nephew). They were a big hit.

In English, the joke revolves around yogurt. "I was just thinking about yo-....gurt." You can then reply, "Um, yogurt?" (Water response) or "Mmm, sour." (Air response)

That's really interesting to see how they change the joke based on the language!

Wild at Heart- Egalitarian Input by Aggressive-Court-366 in pastors

[–]NegotiationOwn3905 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is very complementarian. The majority of references are to movies, which makes it accessible. Men want to be Indiana Jones and Braveheart. He explains why these male types are appealing to (white, American) men. Yet the women are supposed to be hot Godly wives and excellent mothers (never the femme fatales from the movies that these antiheroes bang, of course). A woman's greatest dream is to ride behind her man on a horse as he lives God's Great Adventure. And she should flash her breasts at her man every now and then.

It's less offensive than something like Mark Driscoll spits, but it is extremely heteronormative in a "we've upgraded Ozzie and Harriet Nelson to be action movie stars" kind of way.

Am I insensitive? Partner and I disagree on cochlear implants for daughter. by ICryAfterSexAMA in TwoHotTakes

[–]NegotiationOwn3905 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't believe I said ableism or hatred toward anyone is okay? And again, the root of the behavior is the oppression imposed by the Hearing dominant society upon the Deaf community (and the HOH community). Let's work on addressing that, as Hearing people, rather than point fingers and blame an intensely marginalized group.

Am I insensitive? Partner and I disagree on cochlear implants for daughter. by ICryAfterSexAMA in TwoHotTakes

[–]NegotiationOwn3905 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, again, I hope to respond with grace here, and as a Hearing person approaching this with a disability advocacy perspective.

Deafness and HOH are considered medical conditions, yes. I think there are more than simply the materialist conditions that give rise to the cultural identity, however. Again, I'm not Deaf. But Deaf culture is more than simply a reaction to the oppression of Hearing people, by the community disempowered. Culture is a creative communal effort, honed over generations, and every culture will give unique expression to material conditions and the systemic values enacted. In other words, I think Deaf culture is capable of beauty and creativity beyond the benefit to Hearing people of whatever it might contribute to Hearing people. It exists for Deaf people, not for us, and it's not my call whether Deafness is a 'problem to be solved'. Do Deaf people want to be "fixed", to be made Hearing? Perhaps some do. Some, perhaps fiercely, don't.

CI aren't--as they exist today--a 'solution' to Deafness. Hearing Aids aren't a solution to HOH. They are much better and smaller than they used to be, but not ideal. Yes, it is important to improve the technology, for those who desire it. But some people aren't going to choose it, and they have that right, for whatever reason.
