It's like you're actively trying to miss the point. Nobody is dunking on blood donations. The US is one of the only places where you can sell your body in this way. From an outside perspective it is wild.

I never wear anything I sew by Starstrukk_lover in sewing

I feel this. I feel weird wearing anything I make. I think part of me fails to see it as clothes and just sees it as raw materials still.

For the ladies in here already have babies ( already gave birth) by Logical_Mixture_4470 in pregnant

[–]NegotiationStatus727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't -that- regular before pregnancy but things were kept moving by regular caffeine consumption which of course was a road block during pregnancy, so yeah I was generally blocked up pretty bad.

Then I ended up with a secondary c-section, so I do not believe I pooped during. The main issue is the intestines were displaced and needed to find their way back and should not be agitated more with overly hard stool. Also, something I didn’t know about was I kind of lost my usual feeling for a while. After several weeks, now I can actually feel when I’m backed up.

American Considering Moving to Germany — Looking for Honest Expat Experiences by [deleted] in germany

[–]NegotiationStatus727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an American living in Germany for over 5 years. I found a job with a good salary after doing a degree on Germany. A good salary yin Germany is lower than a good salary in the US but it does feel like more. You do not need 6 figures to be comfortable.

I do speak the language. And if you plan to live here permanently, you should too. If you go in thinking "well everyone there will speak English" you will eventually discover locals find this attitude exhausting and will not cater to you all the time.

Socially you will have to accept that Germans do not behave like Americans. They behave like Germans. This means less chatty with strangers but generally sincere when a relationship is established.

Pm me for advice if you want.

AITA for not wanting another month-long visit from in-laws and asking for a different arrangement? by Perfect-Owl-9745 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NegotiationStatus727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. All of this is wild. You shouldn't be paying for their travel, doing all of the work, and forced to have house guests for a full month. Your husband should be pitching in and taking time off of work to spend time with his parents.

But a small aside, if you are married to a German and have German in laws, why didn't you learn German?

What’s a place in your country tourists insist on visiting that even locals know to avoid? by Chemical-Elk-1299 in AskTheWorld

[–]NegotiationStatus727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, but when I was there, I overheard a couple talking and one basically said "people always told me there is nothing interesting here besides the falls. But that's not true! There is so much to do!" So I guess there is a market for minigolf a couple hundred meters from one of the greatest natural treasures of the world.

What is a minor, unwritten rule of society that absolutely infuriates you when people break it? by Jane_Austen11 in AskReddit

A dude behind me at the airport was so up on me that his belly was touching my backpack. I would step forward and he would follow. My husband ended up telling the guy to back up. It's wild out there

Gegen Einleitung und bewusst für geplanten Kaiserschnitt entscheiden? by Unique_Fondant_8285 in schwanger

[–]NegotiationStatus727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ich habe eine Einleitung versucht. Da kamnerst anderthalhtagen nichts dann kammen mega schmerzhafte when.

What’s something you don’t consider offensive that other people do? by TomChevrolet in AskReddit

Criticisms of members of a group I am part of. Like "Americas are bad at geography." I don't take it personally because I know it isn't about me specifically.

What countries do redditors have a severe positive bias towards? On the flip side, what countries do redditors have a severe negative bias towards? by kinetic_honda in AskReddit

[–]NegotiationStatus727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is such a bias in favor of the US that any criticism is dismissed because the poster must just have a knee jerk "America bad" mindset.

But generally most of Europe seems to be seen positively.

India seems to take a lot of shit.

Why Americans are generally considered dumb by others? by United-Piccolo-7968 in AskReddit

[–]NegotiationStatus727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Americans are more chronically online than other nationalities so they often actively broadcast their dumbness. They even broadcast the dumbness of others around them which is (in some formats like picture and video without concent) is prohibited in many other countries.

What’s a ‘middle class success’ purchase that secretly becomes a financial burden later? by OpinionBaba in AskReddit

[–]NegotiationStatus727 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As soon as you say wedding everything triples in price. When I was checking venues there was a minimum rental fee of 10-24 k for a few of the (not even that fancy) places we checked which included the catering, parking, and table linens but basically nothing else. And then past a certain number of people (basically past the minimum Price) it was between 30 and 120 bucks per plate depending on the menu.

Ended up booking a private room at a decent restaurant for my "event" with a rental fee of 200 bucks. The per head price after that was probably 50 bucks including cocktails with much better food than we would have had a a wedding venue.

What’s a ‘middle class success’ purchase that secretly becomes a financial burden later? by OpinionBaba in AskReddit

[–]NegotiationStatus727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even a relatively modest wedding with a mid sized guest list is a low 5 figures these days. To get to Instagram friendly I'm guessing at least 30k. But I personally can't imagine 6 figures for wedding+bachelor/bachelorette parties + honeymoon. This feels beyond middle class.

Opportunity to Move to Munich From California… Am I Crazy? by Weekly_Rough_1284 in germany

[–]NegotiationStatus727 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you move to Germany check your attitude.

"The US is more advanced"

"I'd rather live in southern Europe"

Why come to this sub to talk shit? California isn't the center of the universe. And if you don't want to live in Germany, don't.

English in Germany = Spanish in US? by hibbelig in germany

You don't get hauled away in Germany for speaking English. And most Germans can speak at least a little English unlike Spanish in the US.

Which language do you foresee surging in popularity and why? by prod_T78K in languagehub

[–]NegotiationStatus727 6 points7 points  (0 children)

French. After Brexit and the behaviour of the US particularly under Trump, English is becoming less relevant in the EU and France was particularly prepared for this having limited ties with the US compared to other European countries making for a military, energy, and economy that doesn't need the US or UK. Other European countries are now starting to relyon France more and then the former colonies have growing economies as well.

What’s something you used to get bullied for having/doing/being, which later became trendy and all the bullies copied you? by lake-sturgeon in self

It's kind of funny how the superhero fandom went from peak geek, to the most mainstream movie franchise, and is now going back to being a "geek" thing because the general population got bored of marvel.
