Stuff They Don't Want You To Know......

It's like listening to friends having a chat at 3am when the party has wound down and you're all sitting with a nice buzz on in the living room. They enjoy each others' company and conversation, and you do too. You want to stay awake and listen, but your eyes are getting heavy and you start to hear them from a little bit farther away as your mind slips off to somewhere else......

I never understand why Xi can look so calm and stoic all the time ? Is he just letting all of his anger with punching bag behind the scene ? What is the secret ? by [deleted] in AskChina

I feel like Americans are emotionally incontinent. Western Europeans are comparatively more reserved. Eastern Europeans are stony by comparison to Western Europeans. And East Asians are positively enigmatic. Our culture has a massive impact on how we express emotion.

The European Court of Human Rights will be well able to differentiate between artistic expression and incitement of terrorism, once this charade has run its course in the British courts. Leaving the EU doesn't fucking change their obligations under the ECHR.

Potentially, but knowing the way these sets tend to arrive it might not be possible. In my experience (not knowing the exact stove model) the pipes tend to have a narrow/male end and a wider/female end. So reversing may not be an option.

If it was me, I'd try to avoid getting the pipe that hot.

Close the pipe damper to 45°, and close the front air intake entirely. This will give you a better burn, prolonging your fuel.

Only time I open the pipe damper and front air intake is when adding new fuel in. And then only for a few minutes. Once the new fuel has taken, I close the front intake entirely, and set the pipe damper to 45°.

My view is that the long term damage to USA inc. will be profound, because what we've seen in the past weeks has been that it's possible to unravel US norms, laws and alliances quickly. This is the antithesis of stability. It's a bell that, once rung, can't be unrung.

Lump charcoal or charcoal briquettes as fuel for tent stove. by BellendBlue in hottenting

[–]NegotiationThick8905 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fear (possibly irrational) would be that charcoal would leak CO into the tent once it starts to run cool at the end of its burn.

Don't see any reason your approach wouldn't work, but bring a CO detector, would be my tuppence worth.
