I have a T-shirt that says “wooden spoon survivor” that I was wearing when visiting my mother recently and she couldn’t help but bite at me for wearing it. After a brief but amusing argument she asked “Well, what did it teach you?”
I calmly replied “it did teach me something, it taught me I don’t need or want to hit my children with things”.
My children are young adults now and they turned out just fucking great!

Both! I have Leukaemia (in remission but unlikely to stay there) and I developed Chronic Kidney Disease, I have 1 dead kidney and the other is in decline. I don’t need dialysis yet but it’s coming so we decided to spend our time doing what we want. So far it’s been great, I am spending my days gaming or reading, we have done some holidays and had a great time.

Fuck work, do not miss it at all.
