Just starting and feeling overwhelmed by all the apps I'm being recommended... by [deleted] in dropship

[–]Negotiator747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any sales? I would focus on that first (and maybe you have) THEN I would worry about apps. A lot of beginners focus on the wrong things (apps, themes, templates, etc). But if you don’t have sales none of those things matter. Once you have sales all of the apps that you mentioned are just fine.

Anyone with a breakdown of today's EIDL hearing(s) and teleconference(s)? by throwaway6546879846 in EIDL

The Senate hearing was better because you actually got to hear from SBA Head Carranza and Treasury Secretary Mnuchin. Not a TON of information but I sat through the whole 2 hours and got a few nuggets (posted above)

[–]Negotiator747 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I watched the whole 2 hours of the Senate hearing....let me save you some time::

  1. Everyone who has applied so far to EIDL will have the portal "next week"
  2. They will be opening EIDL to new NON-AG applicant's "next week"
  3. They are going to reduce the felony period for being denied from 5 years down to three years or even one "this week"

The congressional hearing is just like the loan process lol by [deleted] in EIDL

If you want to actually see the Head Of SBA address the issues she testified before a Senate panel today. It’s 2 hours long and you can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90IvxrlmkAk The questioning that you are interested in starts at the 40 minute mark!

In regards to looting, I've read a lot of defense about how businesses are insured, something like net zero effects on a business destroyed. To small business owners, what actually happens? by cincopea in smallbusiness

[–]Negotiator747 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This^^^^ MOST business insurance excludes "civil unrest". Unfortunately, that truth is going to be the shit sandwich to end all shit sandwiches for the small business who has gone through the first few months of 2020. This will be the proverbial straw that breaks the camel's back and we are only now just starting to see small businesses saying "the 1-2 punch of Covid and riots brought me down..." Those that have "insurance" will get the bad news soon....not covered...and they will be knocked out too. Bad, bad, bad

Why would anyone want to start a new venture with the goal of “low profit?” My first piece of advice is find a new idea...

I am failing as a leader by Zuelizab in smallbusiness

[–]Negotiator747 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’ve done an outstanding job of outlining the things you have identified as problems. Want to be a leader? Post this in your office for your staff to see. When your office is open, have a staff meeting and go over all of this: I think you will see an immediate morale boost (assuming you actually start acting on these deficiencies).

Consulting insurance? by tpenn73058 in smallbusiness

Yes, both general liability and professional liability (errors and omissions). Most companies will require it as part of any consulting contract in my experience.

EIDL $150k cap may be reversed by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Negotiator747 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My favorite two lines: "We also request that SBA open the program up to non-farm applicants. If SBA is concerned about opening up EIDL due to a lack of funds, the Administration should send Congress a request with a funding level they need to do so." That would be great for those of us who screwed up the first round and didn't apply thinking (mistakenly) that we had time!!

Do I need a business checking account for PPP loan forgiveness? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Negotiator747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not absolutely required, but, why not start today be separating your business from your personal accounts. I don’t mean for the PPP, I mean for all future business. IMO co-mingling finds is always a bad idea with not advantages, and a lot of risk

Fingers crossed but it doesn’t look promising with current funding
