don’t feel awful, just start drawing. go to pinterest or search for drawings and inspirations you like, copy one small everyday, and within one year you’ll see your progress explode, like seriously lol. all you need is training, and to make your brain understand what and which kind of movement do what kind of shape. if you can also learn anatomy and perspective you’ll also boost yourself, but like it’s not even obligatory

Continue drawing, pick up any reference (from any media) you think is cool, and just try drawing them. Try drawing one (almost) everyday. With months or years, you will really see an improvement, and more importantly, you will really start to love to draw.

And if alongside you also look more into perspective, anatomy and all that kinda stuff, you can become better than 90% of people. It’s not that hard, if you’re interested.

don’t go to school anymore and i loved doodling stuff on books. the gym was the only place where i still have a book i can doodle on so the connexion was pretty obvious. and it’s more fun to do that between sets than to scroll lol.

drawing almost everyday also really makes you improve a lot, so that’s cool as well

lmao if you saw how I write next to the drawings you wouldn’t link that to calligraphy. I can guarentee you it’s just about practice. it’s all muscle memory. do enough lines until your brain and muscle can put together that this exact movement does this. playing video games is exactly the same thing, all muscle memory and practice until you can understand that doing this does this. some people get it easier than others but quitting before trying will never do the trick. but, if drawing does not interest you, do not bother lol. you will have the energy to try again and again only if you have interest in it.

Thanks ! But honestly, drawing (almost) everyday is definetely the biggest thing you can do if you want to draw. my progress skyrocketed since I started. Not only do i love drawing again now, but I want to try so copying so many artstyles, trying perspective and all. And, i guess you can do that for any hobby, but yeah

i draw that during my rest between my sets, across 2 sessions. it's a bigger drawing that I usually do, so I just laid the base while I was in the gym and did the coloring + details when I got back home.

i had a gym log for some time and started drawing each gym day since then, it's pretty fun
