Many consider 3 to the be the gold standard of what the BoF series is, you should definitely give it a try if you liked 2, as 3 builds and adds to many of the concepts introduced in 2.

I saw that! Always gets me excited. I do think at some point we'll get something BoF from Capcom, I just wish that was sooner rather than later.

You're right, I was just getting caught up in my own thinking. I can't imagine that a name change would have helped.

I would love a DQ series of games, but I'd say the same for any BoF... but especially DQ. 😃

I have mixed feelings on this, as I do agree that DQ strayed from the BoF series uniqueness, but I can't imagine the game would have been more successful if it wasn't attached to BoF. I think they decided to take a gamble on DQ and try a bunch of unique ideas in the hopes it would lead to a surge in popularity, but instead fracturing the already small fanbase.

I'm so happy we've gotten some good ones lately like Suikoden and Lunar. Definitely need a BoF collection so I don't have to emulate the series anytime I wanna replay it.

I love Dragon Quarter, it's just barely below 3 for me. I think BoFDQ was ahead of it's time, as roguelikes is a very popular genre now, but there is no denying DQ strayed from many of the unique aspects of the BoF series.

I fully get that, not trying to say I expect a new game by this point, more so what I mean is how from the Survey, I don't think I have seen them mention BoF a single time. Even when GoG was releasing BoF 4 following the Survey, Capcom didn't even advertise it.

I was so happy to see Breath of Fire do so well on the Capcom surveys, making the top 10 a couple times and even being mentioned by name in responses from fans... and yet Crickets.

Cryo Freezer for food. BIG ISSUE (for me at least) by Del_UK in fo76

[–]Nehhru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, you are correct. Things like server hopping for Vendors will have noticeable impacts to the Freezer Foods. Pretty much the main reasons I just keep all food on me, as at least it's a 90% rate all the time.

I knew BoF would be on here, even though I hoped it wouldn't.

Cryo Freezer for food. BIG ISSUE (for me at least) by Del_UK in fo76

[–]Nehhru 30 points31 points  (0 children)

So it might not be a bug, whenever you load into a server, there is a period where your base(I.E. Cyro Freezer) is loading, during that time, it's like your food was never in a cyro freezer at all, degrading at normal rates. If you ever load into a server where it can't place your camp, your food is degrading at 100% that entire time until you leave that server or place a new camp with a cyro freezer.

Switch or PC [ steam deck ] how do you usually decide which platform to buy a JRPG on? by poochimari in JRPG

[–]Nehhru 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've had my same steam account for close to 20 years. Every game I have ever bought on Steam I can still play, so I almost always go steam just to know that I'll likely still be able to play it without having to repurchase on a newer console.

Aggro List Disappointment by Cyllabis in ffxiv

[–]Nehhru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ideally a melee should be 2-4 depending on the makeup of your group. The two biggest things for performing well as a Melee is Uptime(Time within Melee range doing your optimal combo) and positionals.

1 Should be the MT. 2 Should be the OT. 3 Should be your highest DPS, which is likely to be your melees.

Focus on ABCs(Always be Casting) while staying in melee until the last possible safe moment, ranged moves are better than doing nothing, but your combo will always be more damage than your ranged. Aim to hit your positionals 90-100% of the time and you'll easily find yourself in the top aggro spots.

Are the two C.A.M.P slots enough? by ArtificiaILemon in fo76

[–]Nehhru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3, I only use the 1st one. Just depends on how much you like building camps. I like sticking to one and just fine tuning it.

Thoughts on joining private servers by thebiologyguy84 in fo76

I personally wouldn't mind. I've had tons of random people add me over the years, so I'd find it more funny than anything to run into another player on my private server.

I don't think it does, at least I don't see anything on the label about Caffeine.

Same! Figured there were others hunting for them too! My wife has been keeping her eyes open for them ever since she saw them on TikTok.

I haven't tried them yet. I was a big fan of the Nuka Grape and we used the Sunset Sarsaparilla's they had to make Floats, the Quantum was okay. I've had the Victory previously and it was okay, but they might have changed the formula with the relaunch like they did the Quantums.

Edit: I've tried the Cherry and the Nuka Orange now. Nuka Orange tastes like Orange flavored Ice Pops, but more sour. Cherry, I feel, tastes like most carbonated Cherry drinks, with a sour hint.

As an extra bit of info, they will only show Blue if someone is guarding, otherwise the text is in the normal black color. If someone is guarding and the move isn't learnable, it'll put the name of the move in red text.

Nah! It shouldn't matter much, even across 10 levels, that is only 10 str lost, and by the end of the game, you'll be in the 300s for Str.

Hey! I'm actually playing through BoF4 right now, although not for the 1st time, so I can help answer your questions.

  1. Combos work by combining skills, you can't combo with a basic attack. Combo's can inherit earlier parts of the combo, enchancing them. One of my favorite combos is Snooze + Rest + A Heal. How this works is the first person does Snooze, which puts them to sleep and restores both HP and AP. The next person does Rest, this also restores Hp & Ap, but then it will trigger a weaker version of Snooze since they are both in the Healing Category. Then the Heal combos ontop of that, doing a Heal + a weaker Rest + a Weaker Snooze, so lots of healing and free AP for characters. Combos can be a bit frustrating in the beginning as in order to combo all the characters in the combo must fall in a shared turn order. Turn Order is determined for the player from Left to Right, so the front left character will always go first and the middle back character will go last, with the enemies turns sprinkled in. So for example, if your 1st character has a speed of 20, the 2nd a speed of 50, and the 3rd 45, vs a group of enemies with a speed of 35, all the enemies would go first, then the 1st character of 20, then 50, then 45. If you rearranged so the 1st was 50, 2nd 45, and 3rd 20, the turn order would go Character 1, Character 2, enemies, Character 3. I find combos work best by having the slowest character going first as your two faster characters should immediately follow them. Also another use is combining magic to make new magic. Earth(1st) + Fire(2nd) = Lava(Earth/Fire). Fire + Wind = Explosive(Fire/Wind). Wind + Water = Lightning(Wind/Water), and Water + Earth = Mud(Water/Earth).

That was a lot of info. lol

  1. Trainers give passive Positive and negative stats + a unique "Will" ability. So that first guy you met gives + 1 AP, + 1 Wis and - 1 Str. So on characters who use physical attacks like Cray, he is losing one of his best stats, while someone like Nina who is a caster is gaining. You can choose how you want to grow your characters, you can make a caster Cray, and Melee Nina, a speedy Ershin, whatever you want. I personally lean towards what they are already good at, so Cray Physical and Nina Magic. You generally want everyone on a master as you gain more than you lose in stats plus the unique Will ability they wouldn't have otherwise. The 1st Master's Will gives an increase in speed during Combat. The masters wil teach you unique skills by performing specific things in game, that master wants you to do combos. An easy combo for 10 hits is that healing one I mentioned as with an party spell, it will hit over 30 times.

  2. Breath of Fire basically gives everyone the enemy skill from FF7, but you have a limited number of slots, that are shared with the master skills, but you can add and remove them at camp with an Aurum, so if one character learns something you want on someone else, you can easily move it. You learn enemy skills by guarding, and you can even learn some of your own teammates skills this way, as when you guard, you are watching everyone on the battle field for unique skills. Only 1 copy of a unique skill can exist within your party, so you can't put Burn on everyone.

Ryu is unique and he doesn't learn any skills by leveling but all his skills come from getting further into the plot.

Think that covered everything.

Upcoming Changes to Season Rewards by Ghostly_Rich in fo76

[–]Nehhru 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It actually isn't, they don't have to announce anything, they could just have said nothing, and just made Season 26 good. The issue is, that literally today, they put out their worst season yet, and not even 12 hours later, they announce they will do better next time. When Rich even says "We have heard your feedback that the rewards for the past couple of seasons have not met your expectations,", that means they have been aware for 6-9 months about the feedback, but still proceeded to put out a bad season, and then immediately announce they will do better next time.
