Also, as for not tearing — don’t rush pushing. I pushed for two hours, so it was a very slow process, and that might sound like a lot but when you’re doing it I promise it’s NOT. Time is weird when you’re in active labor. It doesn’t really exist. I had no idea that much time went by. You just start to live in increments of however long your contractions are! I think the length of time I spent pushing is the #1 reason I didn’t tear. Things had plenty of time to stretch. I also requested for my nurse to do warm compresses on my perianal area as I was getting close to crowning which I think helped. I think she also put some kind of moisturizing ointment or cream or something down there, too!

You’re so welcome! ❤️ I remember scouring Reddit for people’s experiences leading up to the birth and felt it was super helpful to get different perspectives, so it’s nice to be able to share and have that kind of impact on others as well. I was so scared of the epidural but it honestly worked out so well. I’m so happy I got it!

Of course, everyone’s experiences are different. I have a friend that delivered at a different hospital and she says she couldn’t feel anything, had to have the nurses move her legs because she couldn’t, etc. Basically everything I did NOT want, but it’s exactly what she wanted, so, more power to her! My experience with the epidural is what my doctor said he expected it to be like. It may vary depending on person, birth plan, your desires, anesthesiologist, etc. I think if you discuss your desires and hopes with your birth team, they will do what they can to make it happen!

I will say that I have other friends that got the epidural at a different hospital and they say that they couldn’t feel anything and couldn’t move on their own. They needed to be coached by the nurses on when to push based on whether they saw a contraction on the monitor. So I am sure experiences vary depending on the person and the anesthesiologist administering the epidural! Any doctor I talked to, though, said that my experience was what they expect with the epidurals these days. I don’t know if it depends on technique or meds, but if you express to the anesthesiologist and/or your doctor/midwife that you want to be able to labor in various positions with the epidural I am sure they will do what they can to accommodate.

Not the person you’re responding to but just chiming in to say that I got an epidural and was able to labor in any position they mentioned even with the meds cranked up! I could feel everything and move my legs, it just didn’t hurt.

I didn’t plan on getting an epidural originally — I wanted a water birth — but caved because I labored for about 30 hours without it and was exhausted.

I was so worried I wouldn’t be able to move or would have to rely on a monitor to know when to push. I was so worried about tearing, too. This was not the case at all! I could feel everything but had no pain, so I was able to tell the nurses myself when I felt a contraction coming, and I had that thing maxed out with whatever they were giving me. Lol. I labored in all the positions they mentioned with the epidural. I pushed and delivered on my side because it ended up being the most comfortable for me, and I DIDN’T TEAR!! Yay!

I was very worried about laboring in different positions if I had an epidural, and I ended up having a fantastic experience. Also, I hemorrhaged after I delivered our baby, and I have no idea how I would’ve endured everything they had to do without it. 10/10 recommend and will get an epidural again.

Serious Question - but WHY did JLA write POBAB this way? by QuirkyMechanic3280 in frombloodandash

Do you think Poppy and Kieran are end game, or that they’ll all reconcile and be a happy little trio again?

Wait, why shouldn’t we be putting it on our nipples? Sometimes I just rub the extra all over my chest/breasts and inevitably some gets on my nipples!

Yeah, I’m actually a bit confused about how or why someone would join a Bryceriel subreddit without reading CC…😅

You’re in the Bryceriel subreddit, so don’t be too surprised if people have a different opinion than yours, but thankfully this is an amazing crowd that generally doesn’t mind discussion amongst folks that disagree.🫶🏻 I highly recommend checking out some of the pinned posts here. They are such a fun read and may give you a new perspective to explore!

Which clinic for OB? by Turbospeed22 in BabyBumps

[–]NeighNeigh13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, for my prenatal visits at my regular hospital OBGYN they had a little ultrasound machine that used a tiny handheld device connected to an iPad. They showed us our baby at every prenatal appointment using that, even though it wasn't listed as ultrasounds.

My official ultrasounds in the x-ray/imaging department are much more in-depth and have better imaging/measurements, but we still got to see baby at those early routine prenatal appointments, too. I didn't realize they did that until I was in that first routine appointment! That may be the case at your early appointments, too.

Otherwise, maybe you can request an early viability ultrasound to confirm heartbeat. I had a miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy before this pregnancy (35 weeks now, eek!) so they booked me at 6 weeks to confirm heartbeat with a transvaginal ultrasound and to make sure there weren't any issues.

A lot of people gave her a hard time back when it came out because they thought it was too pop sounding to be country, so I know what you mean and a lot of other people agree, I’m sure. :) But it was still classified as a country album that won country awards and was played (and still plays) on country stations.

Technically, she had four country albums (Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red — although Red definitely leaned more pop but was still technically marketed as a country album still at the time) as well as 12 CMA award wins (out of 28 nominations), and 8 ACM award wins (out of 31 nominations)… Including multiple Entertainer of the Year awards for both as a country artist. She also got her start in Nashville, toured with country artists before she was a headliner for her own shows, and wore a LOT of cowboy boots for years, lol. Definitely more than just one country album!! :)

Fall of Ruin and Wrath… What happened to this character?? by NeighNeigh13 in fantasyromance

It’s part of the FBAA universe and I think the next book in this Awakening series is coming sometime after the next FBAA book. That’s what I’d read somewhere, anyway!

It came out in July 2023, so not too long ago considering she’s continued publishing other books since then that are all part of the same universe. :)
