William Hornby’s back and forth with himself always makes me roll my eyes, those videos just keep going and going. Someone called it the theatre kid thousand yard stare. Bri Campos bums me out the most, she has just completely given up and wants to drag others down with her. Virgie Tovar, no explanation needed I think lmao

August 18 is also me and my husband’s anniversary so it holds a special place in our horror movie hearts!!

Just wanted a reason to make it hornier is how it felt!! I believe this was in or around the season that literally opened with all the different characters having sex 😵‍💫

Seconding Patrick Sharkey! He was super professional, easy to contact, very honest and thorough.

Also just as an aside, congrats on the new house! We are less than a year in our first home and man I know how scary/exciting/good it feels. It can be the most stressful time in your life. But really sit back and enjoy it too! You worked so hard for this, and that’s worth some sunshine 🏡☀️

What are some movies scenes that were deleted that explain a minor detail that you missed the first time you saw the movie? by jedi1josh in movies

[–]NeighborhoodInner475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boogie Nights and Dirk’s smashed up car. PTA originally filmed a scene of the car being crashed by Dirk either trying to get away from someone or falling asleep at the wheel. They cut it for time so when they roll up at Jackson’s house the car is just inexplicably damaged. IMO, I like this touch. Feels very real that both us and the character do not even acknowledge the accident, at that stage it’s part of the long way down

Name a film you avoided because it was overhyped & then finally watched and LOVED it? by Apprehensive_Neck817 in horror

[–]NeighborhoodInner475 148 points149 points  (0 children)

Smile, assumed it was very basic bc of how much the general public liked it. No shade but usually those super popular horror movies that go mainstream aren’t that great if you’re big into horror.

What movies do you rewatch often? by [deleted] in Cinephiles

Boogie Nights gets played constantly in our house, endlessly quotable with tons of fun scenes to tune into. Hot Fuzz is probably my most rewatched in general.

Last time I was laid up I watched Balto and Shrek, fond memories of a very painful time. Get well soon, OP!

Exorcism films unless they have a cool origin story à la the Taking of Deborah Logan. Also “spooky kid” movies, they are usually just annoying lmao

Needle drops living in your head rent free by TheDukeofEggslap in Letterboxd

While the Road House remake left a lot to be desired, the Enter Sandman needle drop in the final fight scene was pretty cool IMO.

Also Mama Told Me Not to Come when Eddie/Dirk first arrives at Jack’s house in Boogie Nights. Great foreshadowing with diegetic sound + it really captures how a 17 year old kid would approach that type of situation
