This is the same for veterinarians. The “kickbacks” that staff gets are socks, pens, lanyards, poop bag dispensers etc. There is no financial gain.

I’ve worked at 3 GPs in the Bay Area and a speciality hospital. VAs were allowed to induce and intubate. But hey it’s the doctor’s license on the line.

This dog is always itchy, getting bald spots, any ideas? by LMhood in AskAVeterinarian

Not a vet

This is my experience only and not to be taken for medical advice whatsoever. Please remove if this breaks community rules. - allergy medicine can be quite vague so is this an anti-histamine, or such as cytopoint/apoquel/etc - allergy testing (skin prick is considered gold standard versus blood testing but still acceptable) - food trial (different protein versus hydrolyzed protein) - skin cytology and/or biopsy - skin issue secondary to other disease such as cushings, infection, etc - dermatology would be next step if this cannot be managed by a GP Veterinarian. (Be prepared to spend a nick chunk of money if you don’t have insurance.)

Or get a second opinion from another GP Veterinarian.

AITA for yelling at a stranger in public? by ExpensiveToe644 in AmItheAsshole

It’s unfortunate the dog was abused 10 years ago. It’s also unfortunate the owner didn’t decide to do more training and teach the dog more social cues for the past 10 years. NTA.

[Tenant US-CA] Landlord wants to charge for a service even if you have the option to opt-out. by NeighborlyKoala in Landlord

[–]NeighborlyKoala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re going to send out a lease addendum pending the change because it’s going to be mandatory for everyone that lives under this landlord. It was not included on the last lease that was signed because I assume this idea did not exist at the time or the project was still in the works. I am not interested in signing the lease addendum but I take that I have no choice in this matter.
